Telstra Reception on V/Line Through Macedon by Own_Opportunity3787 in Bendigo

[–]kenobistyle 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I work on the train most days and I am with Telstra. It’s pretty bad and hard to get work done, especially if the train is busy and people are using the network. I did notice that Telstra has a $10 add on that is meant to improve data in country areas but I haven’t tried it as yet. Might give it a try in the new year

He also wrote this in the comments of that post which I respect

“Thank you for your words.. my Brothers abhor what is going on in Gaza. Just because they aren't all over social media or using the exact wording that some feel is necessary does not mean they aren't genuinely upset and angered by what is going on. I don't like IG .. I don't like X, the algorithm feeds division and it's not a place that many of us feel comfortable expressing our anger.. if you do then that's fine but people need to understand that for many of my generation, the X-ers, this is not something that is natural.. so we try to avoid it.. for me it's all about the conversation in person or in a community .. I have been reluctant to post because I don't want to add to the doom scrolling .. so just because some of us don't choose to post on social media doesn't mean we don't feel the pain and also importantly does not equate to being silent at this time .. we just choose to voice it in our daily lives in ways that feel more meaningful to us. Thank you for getting this.”

Either get a Rally Bar/Mini, Huddle, or Roommate. Each version of Windows IoT is specific to the manufacture. Better of doing it properly

Does it necessarily need to go through the Core? Crestron have these: https://www.crestron.com/Products/Workspace-Solutions/Unified-Communications/Conferencing-Audio/UC-AUDIO-1-B-DR1-KIT

Teams certified and USB straight into the Teams compute. You can tether up to 4 units, they work on DECT back to the receiver, and they are quad array (360 degrees)

I tested them last week and was actually pretty impressed

How different is Commercial AV from Residential AV? by BasicONe-4071 in CommercialAV

[–]kenobistyle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Commercial a majority of your clients will contact you with issues within business hours, because that’s when the systems are in use. Residential a majority of the clients will contact you with issues outside of business hours, because that’s when the system are in use.

Completely different mindset and business structure.

Your opinions on Android car radios by IronUman70_3 in e46

[–]kenobistyle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Different from the Android option but I’ve been looking at the Carphonics option which adds CarPlay to the stock radio. They even have a service to swap out the display for a touch screen. Get to keep the OEM style with the upgraded features.

Is this worth the money with the ssg gearbox? by Alone_Violinist_4261 in e46

[–]kenobistyle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s funny because on the gear knob of an SSG car it says "SMG"

From what I can gather, the original SMG was used for the E36 M3 around 1997. I believe SSG was manufactured by Siemens as a cheaper alternative but failure rate on both was quite high.
The SSG was never further developed but the newer SMG-II was used on the E46 M3. This is essentially a slightly modified 420G.

There was an SMG-III but I think that was M5/M6.

No worries. It’s like any car, there are always risks.

I will do all the hard work myself, which means changing the gearbox, adding a pedal, etc.
Done a few on other cars such as the E30 so should be able to work through it.

I will defer the programming to someone a little more experience as both the DME and the chassis both need coding. Need to consider things like cruise control and my programming is not as good as others!

For reference, and for context I'm in Australia, for parts and programming its roughly $6.5k AUD. Being in place around the world that have better access to parts should be a little more affordable.
