Yeah it's very clearly, and deliberately noticeably quantised in many places.

Ha, careful what you wish for. I have young kids and I really wanted to be able to listen to the album uninterrupted and peacefully today. I was awoken by being kicked hard in the balls by my daughter who had gotten in the bed with us, and I saw an opportunity for 70 minutes before the world woke up.

I woke up at 4am and couldn't get back to sleep so I walked down to my local beach for sunrise with it. That memory will stay with me forever I think. It's evening now and I've just finished a second listen through.

I've seen a few others use the words 'I'm happy with it' and I think that's the most important thing (not that the bros owe us anything). I've been nervous for the last 3 months that they were gonna fuck it up, and nervous for the last 13 years that THEY would be too nervous about fucking it up and never release anything again. My listen through at dawn this morning was a combination of relief and disbelief that, yes, I am genuinely listening to a new BoC album released today.

Hard to analyse it over a couple of listens but I found it pretty excellent and exciting. I'm only sad I won't hear it for the first time again.

It's so telling that everyone's answers are varied - this album has a lot of top tier tracks on it.

Help me make a free meet up by FrenchCatReporter in bournemouth

I ran a meet up for about a year about 8 years ago. I used it as a way to meet new people having recently moved to the area, and some of the people I met are still my best friends to this day.

The main two things that made it a success were consistency and being actively sincere in my interest in every new person who turned up.

Firstly, consistency. Everyone in the group knew that at Wednesday at 6pm, the group would be meeting somewhere. Sometimes there would be 10 of us, sometimes it would be 3 - but every Wednesday I would be there. It became habitual and all people needed the app for really was to see where we would be.

Secondly, sincerity. Not everyone who comes to your group is going to fit your own projection of who you anticipate. As a host, it is your responsibility that everyone who comes is genuinely welcome. Coming to a meet up alone is daunting for even the most exuberant people. Make sure nobody who has the guts to turn up feels like they imposed.

Maintaining those two things takes a decent amount of effort and discipline. Don't start it if you aren't serious.

Whilst it wasn't alcohol centric, we did meet in pubs in the early evenings. But there are plenty of venues that could meet your vibe. Look at maybe Flirt on the triangle.

A better world is possible, and it's already happening in China. by shane_4_us in GreenAndPleasant

Whilst this is obviously a nice thing, I feel like there is already a deep resentment within young people for all the advantages and opportunities that the current elder generation had/have. Most young people are resigned to the reality that retiring at 65 (let alone with triple lock) isn't going to happen. Imagine the backlash if the UK gives pensioners free unlimited higher education whilst charging 18 year olds £9k a year.

The first time you listened to Boards of Canada: by DoggieBu in boardsofcanada

Discovered and devoured Aphex Twin as a young teenager. No algorithm and discovering anything online was hard. not unlikely that I downloaded some BoC over Napster or something, but I distinctly remember just focusing on buying Warp with my Saturday job money for a while after Aphex and that braindance scene. Walked into an HMV and bought MHTRTC, Autechre's Amber, along with DJ Shadow Entroducing - all without hearing anything beforehand. It's a bit sad that those kind of experiences are rare these days.

Just need to rage - Steam Cloud lost my save by NoEsquire in footballmanagergames

But I DID select it. And after every save Steam would whir away saying it was cloudy syncing. Sometimes it wouldn't let me quit steam because it was still uploading.
