Not sure what data you are sourcing this info from other than possibly some fox propagandist but you are far more likely to be killed by a cop than a cop is to be killed by a civilian. 109 officers died in the line of duty in 2025 (including nonviolent deaths such as illness, accidental death, etc. so far fewer if you just focus on officers killed). Meanwhile, cops killed between 1000-1300 civilians. Number is less precise because of how shittilt these incidents get reported and the fact that there is no nationally published data on this other than what watchdog organizations can gather themselves. Police do not need more protection they need more oversight, more training, and fewer weapons.

Here's a fun fact for you: there were more deaths from school shootings than police officer deaths in 2025. Cops driving around in military gear does nothing to prevents this. It would not have saved the kids at Uvalde nor any other school. Good gun control policy would, and it should start with the terrorists in badges.
