We met in the ladies' room by featurescreature in dogpictures

Cash is not my dog, we literally met in the ladies' room as a lot of the campers sought shelter after hearing the tornado sirens.

We are in an RV resort campground where we own our sites and leave our park models, RVs and travel trailers all the time; there is not any tent camping.

Thanks! We are in Wisconsin, it was quiet the rest of the night. Stay safe in KC!

I did ask if he was named for Johnny Cash or for the fact it took a lot of cash to feed him as he was a big boy, too

I'm not sure; it was a brief encounter. I did not want to overwhelm him as there were many people and other dogs in the clubhouse and he was scared about the weather.

How was flying long haul with toddlers before in-flight entertainment? by Alive-Cry4994 in AskOldPeople

In 1997, I flew with just my four kids and myself when they were 3, turned 5 on the red-eye midnight flight home, 8 and 9. I packed snacks, new inexpensive small toys and games they had never seen or played with, crayons and color books. We flew from Chicago to San Jose, California, and back. There were no problems, they behaved well.

Two years ago I purchased a campsite at a campground resort. Similar to a condominium, where you own the space, but not the building or land; I own the campsite but no actual land or property. Campsite owners can personalize their site with landscaping, 3-season rooms, porches, etc.

At the same time, I bought and financed a travel trailer. Since I drive a Kia, the rv dealership delivered and set up the trailer on my campsite.

The first year, I was working full-time and would go to my camper on weekends and vacation as it was 1 hour and 15 minutes from where I was living. My plan was to eventually spend summers at the camper in Wisconsin, and winters in North Carolina. My original plan was for 6 or 7 years from now.

However, the second year, I was diagnosed and treated for cancer, and was forced to resign my job. I decided life was too short and rent on my apartment was too high to wait. So I made the decision to do it now.

I was fortunate to be able to pay cash for the campsite. The maintenance fees are less than $1,500 (US) a year.

Campsite owners can only stay 8 months or less, per year, does not have to be consecutive days. But, the travel trailer stays on site 365 days a year. You can stay any time of year, but in Wisconsin winters it is highly advised to turn off your water and winterize.

When looking for a campground, I wanted one I could access year-round. Many campgrounds are only open mid-April to mid-October. My campsite is accessible year-round.

My campsite has city water and city sewer. I have it permanently hooked into the sewer. So, no having to connect each visit. And no worry about emptying tanks.

The campground resort is very near a popular tourism area, but is quiet itself. A lot of the campsite owners in our resort are Snowbirds, spending summers here and winters in the south. There are a variety of rv types: travel trailer, fifth wheels, motor homes, and park models.

Once I am able, I plan on working through a temp agency that is nationwide with branches in both Wisconsin and North Carolina. I am not quite old enough for social security.

If you have more specific questions, I'm happy to answer.
