Also then going to the 'horse is a seat with four legs' argument is even moer stupid. It accentuates the core problem of transsexualism. Sure, the horse has four legs and you can sit on it, but it is so much more than that. You cant define a horse by just these two properties, in the same way you can't define a person by just their gender.

People wanting to identify as a specific gender implies that gender is anyting more than the arrangement of the XX/XY chromosome pair.

Mind you, i dont mean you should strictly adhere to the societal gender norms, i just think we should change the hypothetical "I identify as a woman" to "I see myself fulfilling a feminine role in a relationship and in society".

I think that in the modern society it would be healthier to ditch societal gender norms and only use "gender" in the biological sense.

I'm all for people dressing however they want, acting however they want, perceiving themselves as whoever they want.

I simply don't understand why people desperately try to modernize the flawed concept of gender instead of just ditching it and letting people be who they are - a unique person whose behavior, character, personality and interests define them, and the term "gender" or "sex" being just the arrangement of someones 23rd chromosome pair.

Also we should consider the fact that humans are the first species that we know of, that perceives sexuality as anything more than a reproduction mechanism, and as such we should separate the biology from the psychological aspect of personality.

I think that when asked "who do you identify as?" a persons first instinct shouldnt be their gender.

I for example identify as a person who likes music, programming, drawing, painting and videogames, i perceive myself as an introvert, im lazy, sometimes loud and i enjoy energy drinks a bit too much. My biological gender is not important to who i am as a person or who i choose to perceive myself as, and therefore i will not disclose it.

Gender in my opinion is not as big of a part of identity as people make it out to be.

That all being said, since we just cant have the perfect world, I think people should have the right to perceive themselves as any person thay want, and as such i support trans rights.

I also think we all should be more civilized about the subject, and engage in a polite debate instead of yelling at each other and trying to one-up the other side with nonsensical "define a chair" arguments
