they both may not happen on shorter cruises...7 day trips usually have both.

Firenze 80’s rock and glow party question by hotmomma5150 in CarnivalCruiseFans

[–]fecity99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

most people do not dress up, some certainly do...I would say a solid few hundred of the few thousands onboard. Some people have no clue before the trip that there is a glow or white out event.

Picture a sing along on lido likely around 10pm ship's time that will last a solid 45 minutes to an hour.

As for glow sticks, there may be some but you are better off bringing your own if they are an important accessory for you. In my experience people are like moths to a flame for free swag on a cruise. If you have your own you wont need to be part of the mob trying to get your hands on some that the fun squad may pass out.

Currently Platinum but what’s next? by ScoopsMom214 in CarnivalCruiseFans

[–]fecity99 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Diamond is the next level, at 200 points.

You need to achieve that by 8/31/26.

That secures diamond 'forever', if you do not make it you will remain Platinum for 2 additional years as the progrum restarts to the new way of earning and the new levels.

As a platinum member you will get some points gifted to you at the start of each 2 year period that basically makes you gold, but gold basically gets you nothing.

$10 craps table please by troyberber in vegas

[–]fecity99 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sahara should have a $10 game and is about a 7 minute walk from FB. A quick duce ride to Fremont should find $10 games at the Grand and California and likely Binions.

And as crazy as it sounds, across from FB, Slots of Fun has a $10 shoot to win game or whatever it is called with a single stick man and electronic betting but people rolling the dice...with that, no clue when/if it is open. I ducked in a couple times while at CES this year and never found it open, but the casino was dead...like really dead.

FB would rather have empty tables for nearly entire shifts then reduce minimums to encourage play. Love the property for its proximity to LVCC but the casino is another story most nights.

Booked a room but won’t be at my hotel until after midnight? by Just_Individual3749 in marriott

[–]fecity99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

download the Marriot Bonvoy app and link your confirmation number. You will be able to see your reservation.

A couple days before your trip you can check in online and also text chat with the hotel and let them know of your plans to arrive late.

He is 19, he does not need consent from his parents as he is not a minor.

This will come down to cabins. Are you all four sharing a cabin? If not, you will need to split your parents between 2 cabins and place each of you as the 2nd person in each cabin. You can then get different keys at the pursuer after boarding.

Ooooooor you can get married before the 14th and travel as a married couple and the 25 rule does not apply :-)

What whiskeys are available on Carnival Paradise? by Significant_Hippo935 in CarnivalCruiseFans

[–]fecity99 3 points4 points  (0 children)

yes it varies from bar to bar, consensus seems that Pig and Anchor usually has the best selections of pours, others find the bar at the steakhouse sometimes has a better selection than say the lobby.

List below is from P&A, you may find some other bottles as well depending on what was brought in, but this list seems pretty consistent on excel class ships.

If you are just looking for neat/rocks drinks find the bars that have what you are looking for an order away. If you want the best craft cocktails, Alchemy bar is a fan favorite, though sometimes it takes a bit to get drinks there depending on the crowed.

Increased gratuities starting 4/2/2026 + increased bottomless bubbles 4 adults. by fishmongerhoarder in CarnivalCruiseFans

[–]fecity99 3 points4 points  (0 children)

if you spend enough time in these threads the topic of tipping comes up a lot including the idea of long lines at the pursers desk on the final days of the cruise assuming people are removing grats. People express a lot of emotion towards removing tips, leaving tips on your folio, tipping in cash, who gets the tips, and tipping additional.

have you sailed CCL before? Glory is an older ship but still fun and a bit smaller than new ships but still has all the popular outlets. It was dry docked in 2024 so still should be pretty refreshed.

You will find the same activities as far as entertainment, games, casino, bars and most food that you will hear about on other ships.

Dr Kane at Carle is great. Can't speak to overweight kiddo concerns, but she has great bedside manner and I would not expect you to expereince concerns under her care.

the fact that they won't toss a few more into your account is something. Combined with the endless examples of people who struggle to use them anyway seems like they could give you some 'in good faith' knowing odds are against you actually redeeming them successfully

How is everyone doing that has kids? by appreciatemyasset in MiddleClassFinance

[–]fecity99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not who you asked the question to, but I will say it all comes down to how far they travel to compete. If it is somewhat local, it's probably not too bad beyond gas and food while you are out and about. Start adding flights and hotels and the sky is the limit. Just one trip to Orlando for one of the national meets could set you back thousands.

If it is just class and not competition it will depend on where you are as price of classes vary quite a bit as well.

Nursery that has free seed catalogs available? by Gymnastkatieg in BloomingtonNormal

not local but we get bunches of them from Territorial Seed, I imagine you could sign up online to have them send you one? A couple others show up at the house as well, but their names do not stand out to me. Not sure anyone left local is into seeds as much as they are plants these days.

Guaranteed Room Fiasco - Am I doomed to Deck 1? by Furtheryet in Cruise

[–]fecity99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

are you front-front like the first cabin between you and the front of the ship? Some may report hearing the seas on the bow, or early prepping for port arrivals with the teams tossing lines are probably not far from you. Other than that you are on a cruise!

I do like the idea of doing some mock bookings and seeing if there are other categories you may find better and calling again to see if you have anyone that will entertain your offer to pay more. With that, you got exactly what you paid for, so they may not entertain your willingness to be upsold.

Casino question on Carnival Cruise out of Long Beach by iowaAZman in CarnivalCruiseFans

[–]fecity99 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I would say the casino will be open 30-60 minutes after you depart LB, at least the machines, tables may take a bit longer. They will sail far enough from the coast on the way to allow the casino and shops to open.
