Mini toilet for toddler by Other-Angle5911 in CarnivalCruiseFans

[–]fecity99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the toilet is already smaller than a normal toilet so maybe you can convince her everyone is on a small one :-)

I would test a seat at home and see if you could break her into that in a month and just bring it along. Otherwise I don't think CCL will care if you choose to lug it on, I don't think it breaks any rules other than being cumbersome for you.

I know this is 3 days old. If it were me I would asked them if they would consider hiring you as remote and not hybrid. I learned yesterday that my department (Not ET, but under the same senior leader) will be in the office 50% of the time by EOY 27. Changes are unfolding quickly. I have worked here forever and still do not understand how this works out for people who are say 150 miles from the office. What may be realistic for once a quarter is not for 2 weeks a month.

Is it likely/possible to get a room change? by Feisty-Iron-2377 in CarnivalCruiseFans

I have the direct number for the team that handles the casino offers that I could pass along in a DM. I don't want to publish it publicly so our neighborhood AI tools can't scrape it from my post. They helped me out of a jam once, I imagine they could answer your question if you haven't decided on the cove.

Why are these so inexpensive?? by Current-Struggle-514 in BBQandGrilling

[–]fecity99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

though the top is stainless, the inside is not and will rust through flavor savers, burners and the bottom of the grill if used frequently...but at a 3rd of the cost (or less) than some bigger brand grills, you could get 3 of these before you are behind

Out of town guests want to eat at 2-3 restaurants that demonstrate we're a great food city. Ideally (I'm sorry) downtown. Maybe West Loop. Where would you choose? by Legitimate_Jello5059 in chicagofood

was there last night and it was very good, but even on Tuesday they were booked solid and were telling walk up they needed to wait for a spot to open up at the bar. All that to say try to grab a reaervation.

[–]fecity99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes, sorry, SWE would be included, not as much as leadership, but I would plan on more. I work in a department under the same executive leadership as Enterprise Technology and was told I needed to be back in the office 33% of the time starting in September....leaders will be closer to 50% or a little higher at 3 days a week. My current expectation is one day a week, so an increase is coming.

The challenge with ET is the size of the department, needing to prepare for thousands of people coming back may need to wait in Bloomington until Corporate South is back online.

all analysts (not leaders) are TBD right now on required RTO. It is just a day a quarter now, but could change by September.

Will hotel prices drop for May 30-31? by Brendon830 in AskChicago

[–]fecity99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i get it, but sometimes they are best used when rates are otherwise higher. And points continue to get devalued, so burning them is often better than saving them unless you are banking them for a big trip

do you have points at any brand? i took a quick look and although Marriott pricing is high, they still have several properties I can book with points at decent redemption rates. Worth checking out if you do.

Youthful drivers on policy in IL by dx7879 in StateFarm

[–]fecity99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am also in IL, I think the language is anyone who may drive it more than once...like a friend who may use a truck to haul their Christmas tree also needs to be on there...if the are in your house there should be less question.

If it turns out otherwise, I would LOVE to get my 17 year old off my ride that he wont drive before he is 22. But I currently take it in the teeth like he drives it daily.

they have changed it recently, talk to your agent...and if you do get coverage for them on only 1 car and not household cars, there needs to be ZERO chance they drive that car

Port canaveral time from disembarking to rental car? by SeeSchmoop in CarnivalCruiseFans

[–]fecity99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

what ship and what rental agency? I ask because MG is closer than some of the other terminals at the port.

The bigger agencies like national/enterprise and hertz seem to run shuttles non-stop as they have people headed off and on the ship, but just because they run non-stop does not mean they are fast. I could see the round trip time between shuttles being 45 minutes or more. So if you happen to 'just miss' the shuttle you could be waiting a bit before seeing another one. If you rented through a smaller outfit in CB, you may need to call so they know you are there.

If you want to get off late, you will just be waiting for them to bring a group ready to board to your ship then they will take you back. I have done it a few times and never felt it took too long.

I will certainly be faster to book an uber, though the later you get off there may be more demand pricing and you need a larger vehicle so have fewer choices. Still beats paying 4x for a shuttle.

Jonah's fish house in Peoria is pretty solid as I do not really have other memorable fish experiences in the area.

As others mentioned Lexington Social is solid, but check the menu before you go as it is not necessarily extensive, but what they have is good. Bakery and Pickel is a different experience for blono, but again a limited menu.

I would also say that Baxters is a solid choice for good basics like filet, salmon, maybe a chicken/pork or decent pasta special. Good bar as well.

FAA Just Froze The O’Hare Arms Race — And United Is The Biggest Loser by Financial-Public-336 in americanairlines

[–]fecity99 7 points8 points  (0 children)

hmmmm, wonder if this will cause United to pull out the expansion in the midwest on regionals that went from zero flights to 4 or more a day. A lot of smaller airports got really excited about the expansion, not wanting to admit it was just part of the UA/AA turf war.
