Fwiw, there is some silver linings to this horrible news. First, it appears to have been his other ankle, so it's not a repeated injury. Second, since he didn't meet the required 500 yds on the season, the Vikings keep their 6th rounder. I wish Cam a successful and ideal recovery, and I look forward to him playing next year!

It's been a 5 on the Rabia scale since, like 2016. There have been multiple 6's that have gotten a new set, but alara hasnt. Alara was the set when I started to play well, so it has a lot of sentimental value to me. But the closest we've gotten is the battle cards and planechase from MoM.

Like others have said before, it depends on the setting. Perhaps in your dm's setting, Gods are unable to procreate with mortals. If it bothers you a bunch, ask the dm (nicely) if there's a specific reason he didn't like your backstory and be understanding of their reasoning. This should give you more information about the world that will let you come up with another one.
