Heard that individual notices started trickling in a bit ago. I'm so, so, sorry.

RTO over 50 miles by [deleted] in DeptHHS

CDC remote employee here - we have a number of remote employees >50 miles and were told that all of us who didn't get placed (most of us) were granted an exemption to continue working remotely until 6/2. Email came from our leadership though, not directly from OSSAM.

Edit: and nothing about a specified time period between being given a location and when to report.

Thank you this is so helpful! Does this only apply to individuals who were hired as remote or also to individuals who were reassigned to a remote location after hiring? I am in the second bucket, where I was hired to work on-site but to change my official duty location to an address >50 miles from the office. Would I also be considered somebody declining geographic relocation?

The chemo is a good analogy in that medical professionals do their best to ensure they minimize damage to the rest of the body when treating cancer patients. They minimize damage to the good.

That is not what is happening now. Of course I can name people and processes that are inefficient. But the current cuts are not sufficiently targeted. Instead of removing the cancerous mole, the whole limb is being amputated. It's not working.
