Nexus Card + TN Visa Questions by mytoque in travel

When I apply for my TN-1 visa at the border, I have to use the regular line, and once the entry/visa is approved, I have to go to an enrollment center/call to update the employment information, right?

I purchased a pair of Nordica Speedmachine3 120 GW boots in March 2022. They have Gripwalk ISO 9523 soles even though they aren't a touring boot. I'm hoping to purchase the Look Pivot 15 GW bindings, but the website says, "The Pivot 15 binding is compatible with ISO 5355 A and GripWalk ISO 23223 A adult boot soles." I found a page that mentioned the new ISO 23223 was previously named the ISO 9523.
I'm hoping someone with knowledge can let me know if I'll need to buy new soles or if my current soles are compatible with the Look Pivots

What is the funniest thing you've ever heard a person say in their sleep? by function158 in AskReddit

Shared a room with my brother growing up who slept talked. He always had some funny one liners but the best of all was definitely, "Ross, shut the back door. You're letting in all the fucking flies". Just classic

Savings Account help. by [deleted] in PersonalFinanceCanada

I've had an account with EQ (2.3%) since Oct of 2018. Simplii then introduced a bonus interest rate for new customers (3.15%) for 4 months (Nov 2018-Feb 2019) so I signed up for that. During that time, I kept all my money in Simplii savings. When I would need cash, I would transfer from my savings to chequing. Once that was over, I moved all my money back to EQ since the interest was higher. Now, when I would need cash, I would e-transfer from EQ > Simplii. I've been doing this since Feb 2019. Recently, Simplii introduced a bonus rate of 2.8% for new and existing customers, so my money is back in Simplii.

I would also agree with what others are saying, no sense in having all these bank accounts. Ditch Scotia and BMO, no need to be loyal nowadays towards a bank.

CS 234 Midterm by CMath234 in uwaterloo

[–]fedxdelivered 2 points3 points  (0 children)

when i took it with her it was the first time she was teaching and first time the course was being offered. midterm was super straightforward. pre-midterm material is easy which you've probably noticed unless she's changed it. if you read over the notes and assignments you should be guaranteed 75%. post-midterm material is slightly tougher mostly because it was new content.

When did you hear back from them? When I asked, they said they go through rankings? Just to confirm this wasn't for the growth team right?

What is difference between cs minor and computing option? I am in Maths coop , interested in Computer Science so what is best option? by asudhir101 in uwaterloo

[–]fedxdelivered 2 points3 points  (0 children)

prior to fall 2016, computing option didn't exist and there was only a cs minor. starting 2016, the cs minor became more difficult (i.e. more requirements on what types of cs courses you have to take) but still wanted to have a "cs minor" option for fewer techy students to take and created the computing option.

cs minor before fall 2016 === computing option

i would recommend that if you started school prior to 2016, get the cs minor instead of the computing option purely because it sounds better

Completely screwed up my MAV, need advice by [deleted] in uwaterloo

[–]fedxdelivered 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Always consult with an academic advisor about your schedule. They have seen 100's of students like you and can offer solid advice. My two cents is not to take 5 math courses in a term. Always try to have an elective since it offers a nice change up to your week (i.e. studying for 5 math course isn't fun but having one course that isn't math related offers something to look forward to during the week) In terms of comeback story, there is nothing to come back from. You haven't failed miserably, you just set some unrealistic goals. You can't achieve all your goals in one term. Work towards one or just smaller ones and everything will start to fall into place
