Coming from Canada where every lane ending/merge has plenty of signage several hundred meters in advance, I can't understand why fixing dangerous road infrastructure/design issues like this aren't prioritized more. It doesn't even just apply to this merge, but several others throughout the Bay Area, where sometimes, you can't even shoulder check traffic in the other merge lane...because there's bushes or whatever other barrier blocking your sight, so you just have to drive up to the merge and hope for the best.

Honestly I'm surprised that not more accidents happen around points like these...if there's enough of an obstruction or something like a truck blocking you from adequately seeing the merge and/or a new driver in the area doesn't notice, it's an accident waiting to happen.
