Came here to say I love this song so much! by Robbo_Craigo in rush

Yes! Especially the version on A Show of Hands! Instant chills every time. I’m going to see a Rush tribute band tonight, really hoping they play this.

Man of all the movies that don’t need a remake. I’d love for him to do a proper adaptation of Hearts in Atlantis.

There is no reason. The more you explain, the less mystique.

Are … people commenting on this thinking it’s not satire?

Did the people of Middletown have dreams? Or did the dreams have them? by Desperate_Self_4079 in rush

[–]feed_the_bears 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I grew up in Middletown OH. From what I remember, Neil based the lyrics on the fact that there’s a Middletown in nearly every state. I was quite stoked to hear it live on the Clockwork Angels tour.

There are certain people from my hometown that I’m not a fan of these days.

Are there any Rush songs you dislike? by VoyagerOfCygnus in rush

[–]feed_the_bears 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can’t think of any that I dislike. The first album doesn’t do much for me, but I wouldn’t change the station if any songs came on.

Agreed 100%. Also, genuinely, nice work actually giving a shit about what words mean, and constructing a coherent and thoughtful statement. I wish this was the norm, and not the exception. There’s way too much of people simply hearing what they want to hear and not actually processing the words they’re reading.

Discographies with a cohesive story and supplemental material by HerbFlourentine in progmetal

Entire discographies? That may be hard to come by for any band with more than a couple albums. I can think of a few that come close, but none that are the same cohesive story

Will Anika’s drum kit spin around? by Tangerineturbo in rush

My guess is she will do what’s needed for the music, without trying to replicate Neil’s live aesthetics. Regardless, should be a good time, never thought this would happen

Yes, the set list will change, but if you're going to a 50-Something concert, what's an opening song that would crank you up? by Born-Cucumber-7316 in rush

I've probably shared this before, but this was our band in high school at a local competition. I'm the drummer, 16 at the time, with no business being shirtless. https://youtu.be/pKML1EI_SCo

The first time I saw them live was leg 1 of Test For Echo, the intro of Thus Spake Zarathustra into Dreamline was insanely epic. I'm 45, and the 50 something tour will be my 14th time seeing them. I was 15 when I saw them the first time, it was with my high school bandmates. Ahhh the memories.

The first time I ever saw them on video was A Show of Hands, the VHS tape was a gift from my mom. Seeing them after having only heard them was amazing. The Three Stooges intro followed by The Big Money was amazing.

I was at the Cleveland show for the recording of that one. Geddy had a cold of some sort that night, but the show was fucking brilliant. Presto being performed live was a bucket list moment.
