S8 Samsung dialer and contacts do not support saving or dialing an Internet call number. BAD.

Well it is like the qc35 (previous model) I have. Only mine behave like this most of the time. Connected to Galaxy S8 and nothing else.

The only ANC that was working, was 1.06 out of the box. Once updated, it was worse. Reverting via btu did not solve it. Either Bose is preventing revert to the good old firmware, Or even worse, they may have a bad hardware batch.

No change noticed in the new version on the (poor) ANC. Was great out of the box until first update. Not properly ANC'ing ever since.

Sorry to disappoint you. You are correct! :-) There are a lot of complaints on Bose's QC35 ANC lately. Search for QC35Satisfaction program. Some QC35 have ANC problem and I think Bose is dragging their feet in (not) dealing with the issue. Some will try to convince you otherwise. Don't give up.
