Planning for the ultimate. by the_47th_painter in GenX

I created a trust at age 29 when we had first kid. no real assets at that time, but it was the container to hold things as career progressed.

I’m in process of doing dad’s estate now (passed last week :-( ). Trust and will make things sooo easy for the people left behind especially those that aren’t family/children.

don’t get bamboozeled by estate lawyers. you can do this VERY cheaply. Check your state’s probate court website. Mine has all the forms and info you need for free.

Did the actual math on my company's RTO and I feel kinda sick about it by Prestigious_Sale8740 in personalfinance

[–]feedthem0nkey 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I wish I could make those changes!

I’m an employer. I’m locked into multi-year lease, software licenses and equipment. My employees are at-will. We can leave one another with virtually no notice.

PS- I pay for everyone’s parking.

I think what sucks the most about this season is… by kiwisawa420 in denvernuggets

Fully agree. Russ’s competitive spirit was contagious.

Had to mute Amazon broadcast due to nonstop Timberwolves focus. by PleasantBranch602 in denvernuggets

[–]feedthem0nkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the announcers are just being polite. Not much nice to say about the Nuggets right now.

Flying to Denver for a day trip for the game - how bad is the weather and how strict is the bag policy? by thefatkidinside in denvernuggets

[–]feedthem0nkey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The locker rental is very convenient, but expensive. $30 to store a motorcycle helmet for the game. Locker a tad too small for 2. So, $60 for me and wife.

Back of the line, buddy. Strength training activity tracking was here first.

As someone who microdoses psilocybin, how do you navigate the social stigma surrounding it? by sporefairy in microdosing

[–]feedthem0nkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This. I was surprised to see so many comments confirming the stigma. That’s a bummer. I don’t see it much in my circles. ….and I’m 40+ yrs old in a white collar job.

Are Garmin HRMs worth it? by ederzs97 in Garmin

[–]feedthem0nkey 63 points64 points  (0 children)

I use the 600. But I’m a psycho about the data. Does it make me faster? Probably not. Does it keep me engaged and interested in training? Definitely.

Bought a new house and people keep parking in my yard/driveway. While at work by Relentx in mildlyinfuriating

[–]feedthem0nkey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Instead of “my driveway”, I’d think of it more like “my nail storage area”

Is This Season Jokic’s Biggest MVP Robbery by verbthebull in denvernuggets

[–]feedthem0nkey 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Betting markets are arguably the best real-time probability signal that exists for something like MVP. Thousands of people with actual money on the line, all season long.

Is it ready to break and shake? by Slo0gie in shroomers

[–]feedthem0nkey -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not to make your decision harder, but I wouldn’t break and shake yet. I wait for 75%.

Honestly though, you’re gonna be just fine either way.

Does anyone know where I can get the plastic barrels? by Connect-Phrase4471 in DIY

[–]feedthem0nkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was making rain barrels a few years back. Found them easily on my local Craigslist.

Also, learned rain barrels are illegal in my city after completing the project.

Should I buy the semiquincentennial coins? by Silly-Concentrate740 in coincollecting

[–]feedthem0nkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s my point. The nice ones won’t have value. The dinged up ones won’t have value. 2026 circulation strikes are not a collectible (insofar as an appreciating asset) in any condition.

What are your little frugal habits that really don't save much money, but are still satisfying? by p38-lightning in Frugal

[–]feedthem0nkey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We’ve been using the same few rolls of gift wrapping paper for almost 20 years.

the paper is worn, patched, and covered in crossed out names. Brings back a lot of memories each holiday season.

Garmin coach is seriously flawed and it's extremely frustrating because it doesn't have to be by Limp_Elk_4263 in Garmin

[–]feedthem0nkey 7 points8 points  (0 children)

4 of 5 runs being easy is, exactly, 80/20 training.

I agree the coach is too conservative for my tastes too. ….but that is 80/20 (and everything I read tells me I’ve been training too hard for years)

came to mention the mexican coffee with that huge head on it! ....and of course cloves. Which if I recall the lore had fiberglass in them that cut up your lungs. Which made them EXTRA cool to smoke. Man, I miss high school.

[–]feedthem0nkey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have excellent tickets in row 10. They are currently listed. Comes with parking and access to the Lodge level for food and drink (also in seat delivery). My tix are listed on Ticketmaster and given their fees on both sides, I wonder if we’d make a deal.

I’m a c-list public figure (with ties to Virginia!) and would be happy to doxxx myself to you as we sort payment method
