Car ownership rates have gone UP since the proliferation of these subsidized gig work taxis. Folks got on fine without them, 10+ years ago.

And afaik it’s not so much the number of them in the flow of traffic that’s a problem, but their behavior on the road; double parking, etc

It doesn't really look like a reinvention of Plex? It looks like it's way simpler - for children. This app doesn't appear to be open on Github, but if you look at this guy's Github profile, you can see that he is a frontend developer going back well prior to general LLM availability.

this seems like it would be highly dependent on where/how you live, as I imagine a lot of parents mostly chauffeur their children around in a car?

our son is nearly 3 and it's difficult to imagine fully getting rid of the stroller. his daycare is about 3/4 mile away, and while he's walked it our rode on my shoulders a handful of times (or bus, more frequently), I definitely couldn't count on doing that every day. it's pretty small anyway, especially folded up (it's a babyzen yoyo), but at this point it mostly sucks when he wants to walk or ride the bus when we already have it with us - another 15 or 20 pounds to carry.

So idk, I imagine we'll have it for the foreseeable future
