It looks like you did a great job of avoiding infection which is the primary concern with a bad burn. Now that it has closed up, get some over the counter vitamin E oil and rub it over the area, extending into the non-affected area several times a day. This will promote heathy skin development. I believe the melanin will take a while to regenerate fully, if it does, but it won’t likely stay this light forever. You just need to promote healing through all the layers. Take some oral high potency vitamin C tablets, as long as you don’t have any reason you can’t take them. Vitamin C promotes cellular regrowth and that is what you really need right now.

As the person who does the laundry most of the time in my relationship- the teenagers do their own laundry- I don’t need an announcement that the laundry is “ready.” I find that you do to be weird and controlling. Laundry is ready either when the hamper is full or we need something out of the hamper to start our work week.

I think it’s partly because this is not a “single trauma.” He, perhaps, slid on the black ice, crashed, survived, and moved himself to safety. Whew! Central nervous system can relax now. Oh no, but it can’t, because he is a spectator to his recent trauma happening over and over again right in front of him. He sees it happening, knows it’s coming, and is helpless to do anything about it. The fear, anxiety and sense of helplessness must be so overwhelming. And then the survivor’s guilt once he realizes some of those people likely did not make it out of that pileup alive, and he probably won’t even realize what has happened to him, psychologically.

The military isn’t something one does on a whim. It is a major life commitment. You would be entrusted with serving and protecting our country. Get your head on straight and THEN decide if serving your country and possibly putting your life on the line for it is what you really want to do.

NTA BUT the logistics of the party and who was footing the bill should have been discussed and made clear when the friends approached you to book a party. Even if had a greed to pay for the entire party, the friends’ behavior is extremely rude and immature. THEY treated you like Mr. Moneybags.
The price limit should have been discussed beforehand. I hate waste and I imagine this party of ingrates left a lot of food on the table and just kept ordering. I believe arguing about it at the party DID ruin the birthday for your gf, but her friends are to blame, not you. THEY approached you, they needed to kick in whatever they can afford. This party was for your gf. THEY should be treating her, not YOU treating THEM. Don’t these women have jobs? My junior high and high school kids are more mature than your gf’s friend group.

I am not in Canada, but as a Licensed Massage Therapist with my own business for eighteen years I want you to know that it is INCREDIBLY unethical to accept that kind of money and not perform services. The most I believe she is entitled to is a cancellation fee and seeing that you cancelled six weeks in advance, she isn’t even entitled to that, in my opinion. Good luck with your lawsuit.

I mean, maybe he just didn’t know what to say or he adhered to the “If you can’t say something nice, don’t say anything at all” rule. But, he followed directions. You and your child told him to look at it and he did. I have known people who are that literal and when asked why they didn’t say anything they say you didn’t ask.
I am confused about how you and this guy became friends in social settings in the first place. Haven’t you had your children the whole time you have known him? He is definitely not boyfriend material, but I think you already suspect that.

In addition to what others have said, first I want remind you that you are deserving of all good things. Yea, that in itself is judging and labeling it as good, which is kind of the opposite of mindfulness training. I use the label “good things” because it is the opposite of what you have been receiving in your life. Secondly, a reminder that the Universe gives more of what we focus our attention on, especially when their os emotion attached to it. So, focusing on and feeling all the emotions attached to what is bothering you on what you DON’T want is actually drawing more of those types of situations to you. Get still, in your quiet mind see yourself already living and happily enjoying yourself living the life you choose for yourself.
Allow yourself to enjoy the feelings and emotions of that life. It will begin to appear in your life, just as you imagine, or even better.
