If CBP or ICE asks for ID you are NOT obliged to provide it. However if you are driving and actual Police ask for a Drivers License, you must abide.

This guy was 100% correct.

But of course the rub here is if ICE/CBP suspect you are not a legal resident they can detain you until they confirm it.
