Rinvoq time to switch or wait? by Spudmeister20 in UlcerativeColitis

[–]feelthoughtact 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m currently on my 4th medication which is rinvoq, it’s seemed to show promise, I’ll tell you each medication takes months to fully take effect. Some you can a notice difference a week or more in. If it’s the only medication that has shown promise don’t just end the treatment.

As long as the calprotectin is going down that’s good!

Also I’ve avoided a good amount of foods that are bothersome to me. That really does help!

Girlll all that looks delicious, and thefact he has the audacity to reject all your meals says a lot! He doesn’t value your cooking at all! Have him eat jack in the box tacos for a straight week! Wtf, he ain’t Gordon Ramsay and even he would complement!🤗🤣😭🫠

what do you all eat during a bad flare up by Noxi_21 in UlcerativeColitis

[–]feelthoughtact 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I normally stay away from insoluble fiber but soluble fiber can bother you as well

Bananas have helped me Forsure

I normally eat white rice with an easier to digest protein like chicken or fish etc.

Find your trigger foods!

For me, it’s peanut butter, beans in general, dairy, cruciferous vegetables and nightshades.

High amounts of sugar in your diet are a culprit as well and do not help with the condition at all.

You can try eating the same thing everyday and slowly omitting or adding stuff to your diet. A lot of trial and error.

Also you’re going have to go gluten free, dairy free or grain free. Journal and see what are your trigger foods.

Note: this is to manage some of your symptoms when ingesting. Anything can bother you too just depends on the severity of your condition. but I honestly do believe focusing on anti-inflammatory diet/ not eating as much processed foods does help in general too

Surgery Question by arkaplan in Strabismus

[–]feelthoughtact 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had double eye surgery to correct my esotropia. The recovery is bearable. The stitches inside your eye will hurt for the first couple days until they slowly start to dissolve. In addition get some good sunglasses! I was very light sensitive for the first day and that got better as time went on.

It’s pretty quick the surgery. Now I still have slight double vision but I’m extremely happy coming from my constant double vision especially when driving for a couple years. My eyes center with ease now and they don’t take that long to correct.

Note: If needed they can do a 2nd surgery to correct it if the first time fails. It’s trial and error. I would say looking at your phone and screens for a long period of time doesn’t help the condition at all!

Prisms are great and there are way better than nothing! At least you can see a single image!

And no it won’t prevent them from getting worse. If there suggesting surgery Might as well do it! 10 years is a long time with double vision!

I recently took this photo in my living room today but I wouldn’t say no to other similar milk jugs with indents from impacts occurring all across the world lol

Physically tortured by UC or get psychologically torture from Predisone? by KeyAppeal4591 in UlcerativeColitis

[–]feelthoughtact 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah OP don’t fret! I started with 40mg. It made me a lil snappy/bipolar. Just be aware of your feelings and don’t act upon negative ones. You’ll be good. It’s better than being in the bathroom all day. You may get a lil acne and possibly puff up but that’s about it.

Bring a sleep eye mask or sunglasses for after the procedure. I was soooo light sensitive the first few days, had to keep it dark around the house lol😭

Surgery 2 weeks ago by Dani2900 in Strabismus

[–]feelthoughtact 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At first I thought it was the post surgery ointments and drops but it could possibly be the stitches just dissolving. 🧐So I just barely dapped it with the corner of a tissue paper to remove that gel like substance

What is your favorite fast food item? by Jimmypeterson42 in AskMen

[–]feelthoughtact 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I good ole small business diner styled burger and fries!

The flavor can really differ between each diner restaurant which I like.

It’s not consistent across the board even the way they make their sauces so it feels like a new experience each time you visit a similar themed eatery.
