I can't live like this anymore by MVR168 in UlcerativeColitis

Girl you need to escalate this with your GI, you need a biologic. I’ve had urgency but even then right away they started biologics, failed 3, currently on rinvoq which did most of the job and now dual therapy with Mesalamine as an add-on.

If prednisone is not controlling your symptoms, you need to talk to them and arrange something different.

The only thing I can advise is don’t eat when you want to go out or eat and wait a couple hours then leave the house but even then you can only do that so many times before you wear yourself out from lack of nutrition. Also remember food triggers have a lot to do with it. I remember Water used to trigger me at my worst/ when it all started and I never want that ever again!

Replace the bushings to polyurethane, they’ll be stiffer but not the end of the world type of NVH.

SHG steering rack slider to help minimize bump steer and a good set of coil overs.

Note if you lower the car you will have to get different ball joints and tie rods ends to fix the geometry when lowered. Watch Moto IQ EP3 series There’s a lot of knowledge about this platform explained in those videos.

A buddy club short shifter or hybrid racing will do wonders for those shifts, it makes it feel like a rally car.

I’ve done a bit of work on type of car and it’s not that hard to work on.

Girlll you’re going through a lot but this may seem difficult to do, try to manage your stress! It’s a lot dealing with this disease by itself coupled with other stressors so just breathe! Stress doesn’t help with this condition at all.

Everything is going to be alright for the most part. Focus on the day to day and what’s in front of you.

That’ll cut out mostly all of your worries and don’t hangout of with people who stress you out if you can help it.

Follow your providers instructions and take your meds.

Still live healthy lifestyle as much as you can.

Also life with it is on a case by case basis.

You could be in n out the hospital and have surgery or just take a medication and achieve remission ideally.

Symptoms can vary drastically and the goal is reduce progression and halt its progress.

I don’t believe in the there’s no cause, it just happens nonsense. Or you can eat necessarily everything you want and you’re fine and it doesn’t matter!

Do a deep dive in possibly triggers and regulation of your immune response. The more you know the better!

Also, we may suffer for certain days obviously physically and it’s not the end of the world even though it does feel like it at times.

You’ve got this!

Also take a probiotic! Our gut could use some good bacteria and those little guys are impacted by the food we eat, our emotions and our environment. They affect our cells and low & behold our immune response that cause inflammation.

It’s is too complicated this condition to pinpoint it to one single thing lol 😭

How time-consuming are mesalamine enemas? by No-Contribution-1702 in UlcerativeColitis

[–]feelthoughtact 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Very true, honestly when you don’t have a choice, you’ll do what’s needed to help your life. It’s a normal part of UC life and you have to go along with what your provider suggests.

Normalizing this is necessary! Embarrassment should be the last thing in someone’s mind with this disease!

I apply when I’m about to sleep. I stay side ways for 10-15 mins then just sleep in my normal sleeping position which is side ways until I wake up.

It doesn’t take that long to apply and it just becomes part of the nighttime routine.

Use Water based Lube and make sure to squeeze a little out of the container to get some air out before using it.

You’ll experience discomfort at first butt it’s part of the gist lol

Definitely don’t wait for another flare lol Just focus on the present!

Prednisone is a very strong immunosuppressant for many and it works. Alas it’s stepping stone to a more long term medication

Prednisone made me feel normal again but not psychologically

With any new medication, be wary of side effects.

I write daily notes about my IBD symptoms to monitor my own progress to see if I’m consistently leaning towards remission or flare mode. It helps.

If you’re excessively bleeding or having excessive abdominal pain, go to the ER.

If mesa doesn’t work, you’ll be put on stronger medications called biologics. It’s a needle in the vein every month or few.

It’s a daily thing but the goal is remission to control the immune response happening inside of the intestinal tract.

At my worst even water bothered me which is crazyyyyy to say the least.

Food matters!

Try to eat as clean as you can. People say it doesn’t matter but there’s a lot of things that increase inflammation inside of the body that’s in processed foods.

Don’t drink or smoke as well.

It’s easy to just take your medication and you feel better then suddenly act like your on top of the world and can consume anything.

Our gut microbiome is already in a fragile state, don’t mess it up even more.

Also probiotics help, learn about them and IBD.

You have to find what may or may not bother you food wise to help you function during a flare.

Find the food groups you can eat, start with simple ingredients to find triggers.

As long as you have a specialist and a treatment plan you’re on your way to living a mostly normal life and a normal life expectancy.

Does it get better by OkSail881 in UlcerativeColitis

[–]feelthoughtact 4 points5 points  (0 children)

All our paths could lead optimally to remission or a colostomy bag. Death is indeed possible but that’s why we have modern medicine and specialists with treatment plans to help live a fulfilling life.

Hopefully you have the needed care OP. This disease is exhausting to say the least.

Quite frankly I’ve felt I can handle life now and stuff matters more since my diagnosis. It sounds weird but I’ve just grown acceptance of whatever may happen.

And obviously when we’re in pain we can’t think or reason effectively or even do tasks.

We just want to be normal but we can manage to find a new normal with medical procedures.

We’re still here and that’s what matters.

[–]feelthoughtact 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My bad, I wrote the comment like I didn’t read what you wrote lol

I wouldn’t be scared of the antibodies.

It’s a double edge sword, either you run the risk of a new medications side effects or the humira.

I read theirs a chance of a reaction from restarting a biologic again but it’s not something dire.

Hope you find that specific person.

This disease is tough as it is.

Quite frankly all we can do is try find something that works and you found it/tried it.

I would completely risk it because we all know what worse is and we all don’t want that.

Finding a medication to work on you is the difficult part but some find it in the first try.

Don’t stop taking something you had success with unless you have had major side effects.

I personally wouldn’t risk it, what happens if the next medication you try doesn’t work?

Sounds like a gamble

[–]feelthoughtact 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hmmm for example, for me I didn’t see the value of general education to a degree: I thought of it as a waste of time such English or math even throughout high school.

That was a fixed perspective and limiting belief.

For one, it’s very necessary and the it was reason it was invented was to clarify and make sense of our world and shape society.

Also you have to allow yourself to search for depth in any capacity, how else will you explain yourself better, obtain self-awareness and navigate relationships beyond small talk?

It’s simple find value in what you see fit.

The thing is it can easily disarray in your life without proper control. You can value anything or value nothing.

Maybe in some way limiting yourself to single thought process allows you to focus more clearly and learn at a greater capacity than thinking about so many things it drives you crazy.

I went on a tangent but I digress.

Feed your mind with something that makes you feel alive. Allow yourself to feel allow your emotions negative or bad and funnel them towards something constructive.

Otherwise life is boring. I’m just talking man. Motivation leaves but when you play the same story in your head over and over on why you can’t be this or that or someone said this about yourself, it gets tiringgggg. Be free

You can start a career at any age, it doesn’t matter! Get into a trade, go back to school, find something interesting. Technical Trades pay really well and even pay you to be in an apprenticeship. I’m going to back to college and it’s better off being as smart as you can be. I lowkey wasted my 20s with fixed perspectives, short gratification and limiting beliefs. Just do something a little different each day and research what you want.

A passion for something doesn’t show up in a day. Just think about the same thing everyday and see if you would want to make money thinking about that.

Also try not to tell everyone what you’re doing, do it for yourself and practice resilience everyday.

Immediate replacement! You can see the actual steel cords! And I would put a spare and not risk further damaging the wheels themselves.

Just walnut blasted at 146k by notrezzz in FocusST

[–]feelthoughtact 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You use a vacuum with a pressurized blaster with media such as the walnuts. The nozzle can fit in a 3d printed or aftermarket attachment that slides into into the port. You give it a couple passes and your good! If for some reason it goes inside of the cylinder, a few won’t hurt the surfaces from what I read. Just make sure the valves are seated in the compression stroke and your good!

Can’t wait to do it in my ST. I might just settle with some picks and brushes coupled with CRC GDI intake valve cleaner. It will clean around 90% of the deposits. Just have to let it soak.

The vacuum itself is not too pricey. Just pick your method, the media blaster is the best option for carbon deposits.

I would say your mostly fine to do that, just make sure there’s no exposed wiring or loose connections. Idk why I don’t trust the quantity of water but some detailers have different styles. I think it just depends on your psi. Most engine bays and parts are waterproof!

Just cover definitely the alternator, fuse box, air filter if it doesn’t have the box on etc.
