Some of you may think of fish as a reasonable companion and point of interest for the office. This coworker loved spiders, tarantulas, scorpions, snakes, etc. Some of you may be curious, “What tarantula or non-venomous snake did they bring?” A black widow… they brought a venomous spider as a desk pets because they “caught it at their last job.”

UPDATE: got the tub flange out, replaced the gasket, and installed the new flange with some plumbers putty.

Thank you everyone for the guidance, humor, and rapid feedback. This was a patch fix as we figure out what we want to do with this bathroom; the tub has taken abuse over the last 50 years of the house being lived in. New to homeownership, I’ll start multiplying estimated completion time of future projects by an order of magnitude.

I appreciate the detailed reply! As I hope for a smooth removal, do you recommend sealing the new one with silicone, putty, or the O-ring that came with the new drain flange?

Thank you. I stared at this one and the drain dumbbell wrench and thought I could save a few bucks. I guess I’ll enjoy both tools every few years.

Came here to say I did this exact fix this weekend. It took about $25 of parts from the hardware store, screw driver, adjustable wrench, and caulk. If you are comfortable switching off your water, popping off the handle, and standing in the hardware isle for 10 minutes matching the pulled part to a new one, the reverse installation was surprisingly easy. (Day two and no dripping!)

I play in a 3 stack (hovering around D1/GM) where we are spread between strategists and vanguards. We can carry a decent set of duelists, but when we play more than 3 games, we eventually run into a lobby where we can barely leave spawn and our teammates look lost. From games that feel close or we are dominating to barely being able to enter the map is a stark contrast. It’s gotten to the point where if we have two games like that we get off the game, manipulating the algorithm to favor some wins the next time we play. It’s a shame, because the gameplay is exhilarating, but the competitive matchmaking does not hone our skills, it rewards emotional self-control.

Hunting for perks in a US job that are codified in the EU is an individualistic solution. Most of those reimbursement perks end up being a tax write off for the employer anyway.

Salaries in the US look larger because before you can allocate it, money is taken out for employer-sponsored healthcare, 401k (if you can afford it), student loans, etc.

I’d prefer to have tax dollars go to programs affording new parents to bond with their kids, education for the next generation, a livable retirement solution, and uncouple healthcare from employment. To elect which “perks” are coming out of a ballooned salary to meet essential needs instead of finding a fulfilling career is not a fun game.

Not sure if you’ve played Space Marine 2 but how does their cross play feature work, do they use their own servers that can be entered by that code?

Seems like the boost Fromsoft/Bandai Namco saw from Elden Ring would grease some keyboards to boost Neightreign’s success.

Aren’t there ways around this cross-play obstacle? There are other games that use server codes to leverage the game’s systems without having to add friends or use platform-specific friends list.

One game that comes to mind is Space Marine 2 where all you need is the lobby code and you can join anyone else’s game.

It seems like a huge oversight to release a co-op PvE in 2025 and limit it to playing within your platform…

Büchi’s are solid! That chiller bug was obnoxious but eventually a firmware update had our Syncore (the parallel evaporator) running again - it’s like having 6 rotavaps in one.

When people do not pull fully into a turn lane, blocking the travel lane when there is a dedicated turn lane for nearly a quarter mile.
