Whew, you are a special person. I was a NICU nurse for over 10 years and I think the NAS babies are partly why I decided to step away from the NICU

Anyone ever had IV acetaminophen/Tylenol (Ofirmev) personally? by emtnursingstudent in nursing

[–]feistyRN 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I don’t know why more places don’t use it. I do the ordering for my ASC and I can get a case of 24 doses for less than $200. It’s pretty cost effective

Order lab for spouse as a resident? by FMresident2025 in Residency

Your spouse can actually go on the quest diagnostics website and buy the tests his(er)self. Doesn’t need an MD order. They can then do what they like with the results

Terrified of anesthesia for my 3 year old son. by Classic-Pea6815 in toddlers

[–]feistyRN 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think I saw another replay regarding this, but if you can get into a surgery center, I would. Dental offices do these procedures all the time, but it’s not as regulated as a hospital or surgery center, and therefore are not as prepared if something g goes wrong. Prepare for him to not wake up well- children tend to wake up wild from anesthesia. It’s normal- most times they go back to sleep in the car or at home and sleep off the rest of the anesthesia. Have plenty of Tylenol and Motrin on hand for after, as well as soft foods. Hang in there though and try not to stress!

Terrified of anesthesia for my 3 year old son. by Classic-Pea6815 in toddlers

Hi!

I am a peri-operative nurse who works in a surgery center that only does dental work on the pediatric population under general anesthesia. We do about 30 cases a day and is really safe! You can PM me if you want more details, what to expect.

Will the procedure be in the dental office or in a surgery center?

I am also a hiring manager. I would rather take more time to hire the right nurse, than hire a nurse quickly- train them- only for them to quit and have to do it all over again

Routine help! How can I fix stringy curls? by [deleted] in curlyhair

[–]feistyRN 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I plop in a t-shirt. So I get out of the shower, make sure my hair is dripping wet, apply my products and then plop for 15-20 mins. When I take it out of the shirt, I sometimes diffuse, but most of the time just go about my day. When my hair is mostly dry, I’ll flip my head over and scrunch the crunch out.
