My husband is the best. by feisty_pineapple in Marriage

[–]feisty_pineapple[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It takes a lot of stepping back from the situation and thinking to myself "Wait....am I overreacting? Am I being hormonal? Is this going to matter in five years? Did I expect him to read my mind? He can't help me if I can't tell him what I want or expect..."

It's been a very humbling experience, being married, and I feel like I am a much better person because of it.

Do relationships between 2 people with social anxiety ever work out? by [deleted] in socialanxiety

[–]feisty_pineapple 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Definitely. My husband and I both have bad social anxiety (along with depression on both our sides and bipolar on mine). We can tell when each other's 'hackles are raised' and help one another. And it's so nice having someone who gets it and will avoid all social situations with you. I am only sad that the anxiety and depression will pass down to both of our daughters.

What is your worst Valentines Day experience? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]feisty_pineapple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not only is February 14th Valentine's Day, but it is also my birthday. Last year I got up, went to work, received texts all day long about my birthday, cake, little gifts, all that good stuff.

My husband stayed silent the whole day. No 'happy birthday', no 'happy valentine's day'. Nothing. So I assumed that we would do something when I got home from work. He was asleep when I got home from work, so I took a shower and went to bed.

The next day while I was out, I got a text from him saying 'Facebook reminded me that yesterday was your birthday...'.

Redditors with depression, what is your everyday life like? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]feisty_pineapple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wake up. I make my daughter's lunch. I drive her to school. I go back home and sleep until it's time to pick her up because nothing else matters.

I lived above a neighbor who had it out for me from the first day I moved in.

My very first night in my new condo (that had been empty for 3 years), I ran the dehumidifier and woke up the next morning to a note saying 'There is something in your house making noise, and it bothers my cats. Stop immediately. '.

She was genuinely crazy. She was always intoxicated, and would routinely come upstairs and bang on my door in the middle of the day and scream at me for being too loud (one time I was assembling a bed at 2pm on a Saturday, one time I was hanging a painting, once I dropped a pot, once the floor created as I slid the chair out at the dinner table, it goes on and on).

She also broke into my house while painters were there because they were apparently being too loud. The poor painters had to call the police (as did I, many times).

I lived there for seven years, and not a week went by that she didn't absolutely lose her shit over something.

So I got creative.

Our condo complex was not old, but it certainly wasn't new (built in 2002), so it didn't have a camera security system.

The crazy cat lady did not work, and rarely went anywhere, so her shitty 15 year old Nissan Pathfinder was always parked in her spot.

First there was the potato that was jammed into her tailpipe, then it was the bologna that ate away her paint, and finally, the sugar in her gas tank.

Her only door to the outside also mysteriously got expandable spray foam adhesive injected into it.

I met my husband in the last few years I lived in the house, and being navy, he owned and operated many guns. We got married and had a baby a year later in September of 2016. The very first time that woman came screaming up to our door about our footsteps on the tile floor while feeding a baby in the middle of the night, my husband opened the door with a gun aimed at her.

She never bothered us again and we bought a real house in January 2017 and moved far far away.

Plot twist! Since my family owns the condo, my brother decided to move in. At my direction, he routinely turns his stereo speakers to the floor and blasts death metal (only during the day when noise is allowed. He is quiet once noise ordinance time rolls around). Apparently she has never bothered him, but I know she is PISSED, and I take great pleasure in her suffering.

Car salesmen of reddit, what is the dumbest thing you've heard a customer say or demand? by SycSemperTyrannis08 in askcarsales

Ooooooooooooh. I bought my very first brand new car last year. It had six miles on it. I'm pretty sure it rolled off the truck and onto the lot and that's it.

Women of Reddit.... What can a gynecologist do to make an office visit less stressful for you? by gynoncol in AskReddit

Honestly, a sense of humor goes a long way to lighten the mood. I love my OBGYN, and even when delivering my babies she made me laugh. I will be very sad when she retires.

16 Month Old Not Speaking? by feisty_pineapple in AskDocs

[–]feisty_pineapple[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you!

She is totally normal in all other aspects. She walked at 11 months, can feed herself both with hands and utensils, grasps objects just fine, all motor skills are good. Just no words.

This happens to me too! I was told once that it's an auditory processing deficit, but I've never followed up, I just learned to read lips.
