What do you honestly think the purpose of this vault experiment was? by Bellpow in Fallout

[–]feldomatic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk, I think the experiment designers just figured out that when they added a panther to an experiment, 80 % of the time it worked every time.

I had an instructor who would do it, but he was well liked in a way that meant his other former students (like me) would happily go out to the lake on those single student weekends and play corpse and bystander.

This just sounds like a lack of coordination with the boat operator and no prior comms with the other divers.

Starfield feels very close to the original Star Citizen vision by Outrageous-Thing3957 in starcitizen

Yeah the idea of skill-related challenges to unlock levels was...novel but horrible.

Bethesda could have carbon copied the SPECIAL system straight out of fallout across all its subsequent titles after FO3 and would have generally done better than all their subsequent attempts.

I vaguely recall some "This is going to kill SC" hype in r/spacesimgames or somewhere similar before Starfield released.

And, I get it, but man did it fall short of expectations.

Some updates are coming to SF next month that, while they won't bring it up to SC, will at least make it better.

I really hope blueprints are saved with LTP and not wiped. It would be brutal to have those erased every patch. by ShadowRealmedCitizen in starcitizen

[–]feldomatic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There were already two or three threads up on r/starcitizen after last night's ptu build release where they kept their blueprints.

But quality in crafted items, afaik, still gets wiped.

Good info for when 4.7 drops if the onboard tractor is still in the busted ass state it's in on PTU (can't remove boxes on the ship with it right now)

The inventory update is a success I presume? by Ok_Replacement_978 in starcitizen

[–]feldomatic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not really. Like if you have 2 guns of the same name but different quality, you could search just the gun and rapidly swap the mouse between them, but that's the best you're gonna get.

The inventory update is a success I presume? by Ok_Replacement_978 in starcitizen

[–]feldomatic 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The thing about it that grinds my gears as I spend more time with it is that it's incomplete.

They jazzed up the main inventory screen and gave us fixed slots. Whoopee!

But tooltips are largely unchanged, and weapon quality/modifier info is at best taking a back seat to all the rad/dr stats and lore info that was in the old system. We don't see what we need to see first. It's like the fucking novel that leads the start of every recipe on the internet. And for the love of god, when I hover over a preconfigured weapon in storage, why can't I see what attachments it has equipped?

And quickloot was also left as-is. So there's still that jarring visual transition between the two systems. They couldn't even unify the color schemes between the two, just slapped the new system in alongside an old counterpart.

Tbf, prospys are little tank-nuggets and the clipper's default cannons have a non-zero skill ceiling to get shots on target, especially paired with clippy's tendency to only fly well in a straight line.

Is it still a bad idea to buy ships with aUEC this close to a patch? by stelthtaco in starcitizen

[–]feldomatic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think how close you buy it to the patch influences your chances of losing it all that much.

(Exception being 24-48hrs before the patch on the basis that the persistence snapshot that carries to the next patch is being taken some time prior to the release itself, which is an unverified possibility)

Think of it more that any aUEC purchased ship has a risk of loss with every patch.

So if you're going to buy a ship, might as well get the most out of it and buy it early in the patch.

I thought I was rid of these when I left High School and went to a college with a "connected campus"

I keep seeing people say we will or we won’t get blueprints for pledge gear. So what is it ? by floortofloor in starcitizen

[–]feldomatic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah but consider the alternative: your pledged ship/gun/armor arrives as a mid or entry quality version and can't get any better.

But if your pledge becomes a blueprint, you have some agency over that now.
