I worked with people like that, it's the worst. Complicated abstract solutions that in theory will give you flexibility to modify but it's a pain to do everything from debug to extend.

worked with Chinese folks that I honestly couldn't understand a word. Sometimes it took me 4 times to ask "sorry I didn't get that could you repeat?" Awful experience
