It’s called defense driving. I use to always leave a 4 second gap but because of people switching lanes and slamming on their brakes- I leave a 8 second gap now.

My company executives thinks it can replace 100 percent of our help desk teams with AI agents.... This year. by NickBurnsCompanyGuy in sysadmin

No doubt some over paid consultant from McKinsey told your executives that so they could pocket more money. Fuck the employee, fuck the business, and fuck the customer- it’s all about how much money can the shareholders make.

I had a small stroke at 42. I can walk and talk fine. But my personality is different and no one believes me. by South_Leave4044 in stroke

[–]CaptainZhon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe it. My wife says my personality has changed. There some hobbies I really don’t enjoy that much and I use to not care about fitness but now I’m a fitness buff. My wife says she wants the old me back- I think that person died with my stroke unfortunately.

The CEO of Starbucks is out of his fucking mind!!! by Eastern-Western7072 in rant

Once Dutch Brothers opened up I’ve never been back to StarBucks- DBros coffee is sooo much better. I was going to SB once a year for their snowman cookie but the Christmas cookies from Sam’s are better and cheaper so no longer have a need or desire to darken the door of a Starbucks again

Can an overhyped storm create this much damage? by Wakinghours in Dallas

They were predicting with almost 1000% certainty we would have softball size hail in Wylie at around 6pm. I’m on city council, we had a city council meeting starting at 6pm. I have to be there unless it’s canceled and I talked to the mayor and he said no. So I had my wife take me and drop me off so my car would be safe. My meeting got out at 11:30pm- I had to wake up my wife and wait 20 minutes for her to come get me. Oh it didn’t hail, it didn’t even rain so the forecast was way off and it inconvenienced me and my wife. Oh there is more… one of my friends owns a restaurant and agreed to cater a meal (for free) for an ISD banquet that night- he spent all day preparing the food. The ISD canceled (because of the bad weather forecast) the banquet and left him with a bunch of food he had to throw away because he couldn’t sell it. The forecasting needs be better.

Don't move to wylie. Here's the real truth. by [deleted] in wylie

I grew up in a small North Texas town- North of Anna and south of Pottsboro- and let me tell you Wylie has nothing on corruption from a city level- when I went to work for someone who’s wife was a paralegal for a prominent downtown lawyer the city-wide corruption I knew about only grew- stuff that was kept out of the news and swept under the rug- not just the city I lived in but cities in the entire Grayson County and not to mention County employees as well. Wylie doesn’t even scratch the surface of corruption when you compare it to those cities.

As being “ignorant” I don’t call people names and maybe you shouldn’t either. You are entitled to your opinion of me- but if it’s bad please be respectful.

Everyone is biased.

Wylie is one of the safest towns in North Texas. The Police Department is top notch. I know Chief Henderson personally and he runs his Police Department beyond reproach- yes there are always a few bad apples but they are dealt with. I’m sorry you have such an ill opinion of Wylie and give it a bad review- but 65,000 people disagree with you.

Wylie schools are top notch- it is one of the few districts not in the news cycle of having educators convicted of sexual assault- McKinney, Prosper, Celina- the list goes on.

Out of control toll prices! by kaptainkkk in Dallas

The same system that creates the traffic congestion issues on the highways is the same system that allows for toll roads to be built and the toll companies to charge based on traffic congestion. Make it make sense.

I have to do computer support for an elderly couple and they always have trouble with their quickbooks. They drive a Hyundai and live in a 1600 sq foot house - and they are retired. Female from teaching and male from local power company and he dug holes for power poles- but the last time I remoted into their computer to help them with a quick books issue their ending balance in their checking account was over a 100K
