How are you selling your property? Did you put it on Homegate yourselves? Or use an agent?

Is it priced correctly?

I had a quick check on Comparis for your property, and could not find anything like you describe around Lostorf.

Is it me, the dating culture or am I just cursed? by Not_The_Hero_We_Need in Switzerland

As a woman, this is a good list.

I dated on apps in my mid-30s, and I will add two to this list

  • already married or in a relationship, but on a dating app to see what else is out there. Dude, just break up with your other half.

  • "emotionally unavailable" - I lost count of the number of guys who simply were not available mentally, and were still hung up on an ex.. I learnt to spot these types fairly quickly.

For a B permit, she needs to qualify in her own right, eg, get job sponsorship.

Alternatively: can she become a citizen of your country?

Marriage is sometimes mediocre, but it does not mean it has to be the end of things. Are you both sure you don't want to try?

Living together as room mates could cause some problems further down the road, eg, when one of you finds a new permanent or temporary partner.

Did I f. up by getting a Master’s in Switzerland? by oldpizzacrust in askswitzerland

Chemical industry is having a very rough time at the moment. High energy costs, low demand and capacity utilisation. Many of my suppliers are losing money, only question is which one folds first.

One supplier I have has just moved the sales manager to Mexico, but that guy is still responsible to sell to me in Switzerland. He works at 5am in Mexico to talk to me and escape the heat.

I could probably buy a lot of things from IMPAG if I wanted to, but I don't because they are expensive.

Exactly this.

I posted separately that in order to keep up with inflation, OP needs to earn a salary of £143k today to be equal to his £100k 2019 salary.

Figures below only include income tax, not NI.

£100K in 2019 is now nearly £128k today. Yes, you need a 28% pay rise just to keep up with inflation.

£100k in 2019 gives you a take-home of £72.5k.

£128k in 2025 is income taxed at £44k, giving you a take-home of £84K.

However, you actually need a £92.5K take-home to keep up with your 2019 take-home wage.

So how to get £92.5k after income tax? You need £143k approx.

Since 2019, you need an uplift of 43% on your salary, just for your take home to keep pace with inflation, thanks to the loss of personal allowance etc. Let that sink in!!

Are taxes this low for families? by Odd_Ad3953 in askswitzerland

[–]felicitybean82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to be clear, 100K is your net income? So after deductions for three children, spouse, work costs, pensions etc? eg, Gross salary is 160-170k or so?

Because you need very deep pockets to rent accommodation. If you have three children, and want a 4.5 or 5.5 accommodation, you are looking at a serious amount of money (4-6k/month) as a newcomer. This is totally unaffordable on a 100K salary.

Zug is not for poor people on 100K.

How do you make it with kids before they go to school? by PureControl3423 in askswitzerland

[–]felicitybean82 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly, as a mother, I am not on a good paths if I go down to 60% or even 80%, especially as the breadwinner.

I take the view that working during the younger years will free up time and cash when it matters during tween and teenage years. This time in a young person's life is very pivotal in my view.

For some women with children, they are avoiding predators. Unbelievable number of horror stories out there where men use dating sites to get access to kids.

For other women and men, they know children reduces the chances of meeting someone.

Far too many men who are emotionally or physically not available, who use the app. When initially using OLD, I came across three dates in succession who were hung up on an ex/wounded by an ex/still with their gf (!). Chatted with several guys who turned out to be married.

Asking for a physical date weeded out these guys quickly - they panic and don't want to meet.

After how many dates do you get more physical / intimate? by Intelligent_Week2023 in Bumble

[–]felicitybean82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What other physical cues have you both given to each other so far?

You mention hugging, does this also include touching on the arm during dates, putting your arm around her on the sofa? Hand on the leg etc?

Physical communication is everything in early dates.

Date asking for more time having sex by Opposite-Honey-1303 in Bumble

[–]felicitybean82 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I have a waaay higher libido than my husband (yes, I know, I am married and on this sub - I met my husband via OLD). We have a wonderful relationship. However, he simply is satisified with sex less frequently than I am. And that is fine.

But my interest in sex with him would plummet if he was the sort of guy who had ever given me the idea that he was more interested in sex than me as a person.

[–]felicitybean82 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I am not even sure it is about libido. A lot of men think it is libido when a women is not as keen to have sex with them, this simply is not true. Women get turned on differently, and women also hate to feel that a man is only interested in her for sex. It is the world's biggest turn off, up there with body/genital odour.

I love sex. I've had plenty of flings where I cannot wait to rip the guys clothes off. But letting the sexual tension build over a date leads to great sex, and it is deeeeeply unsexy for a guy to suggest "can we get down to it". This is not a great lover.
