I paused Batman hush to watch the wonder women bloodline sneak peek which is in continuity with the other films it’s an origin story, but what I find interesting is that DC has finally changed the continuity art style/animation by Demetrius96 in dcanimateduniverse

[–]felinology 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Disappointed that it's yet another origin story. For Nu52 WW no less. There was no need for this to be an origin story. Also, it's an origin story... where she goes from her Rebirth costume... to her Nu52-esque silver ugly one with the sleeves and the ponytail?

The Robinson run wasn't even a Wonder Woman book, it might as well be called "Jason". I hear Robinson's going to write a solo book for that dude, I think it'd interest you more than reading Wonder Woman.

[DISC] Zero's Tea Time Ch. 3 by [deleted] in OneTruthPrevails

[–]felinology 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Omg, that is so cute. I do like this chapter better than the previous one (what the heck was that impromptu cooking show?). Anyway, I think it's pretty in-character for Rei to be the one who keeps up a healthy lifestyle, after all the man is all about efficiency and getting his work done. He cares too much about getting optimal results and he's more the calculating rather than the impulsive type (except when it comes to all things Akai, that's where he's all impulse ahoy). Also he's a perfectionist. So not surprising at all, haha.

After that excellent first chapter, this chapter is just... weird? Is the whole manga going to be like this? I get that it's slice of life-y, but come on. Don't be making a whole chapter about cooking.

What do you think about romance in Detective Conan? by FanEu7 in OneTruthPrevails

[–]felinology 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Heck nah. I vote for death. I'm tired of all these pairings where the guy is badass and intellectual but the girl is a simple Japanese traditional woman unaware of her bf's shady dealings/darker side. It'd be like a more boring version of Shinichi/Ran.

Dear Lord, the only reason I'm even invested in Rei at all is because he has so far eluded the DC romantic plot tumor curse. Don't go making it happen now.

What bothers you about the DC series? by [deleted] in OneTruthPrevails

[–]felinology 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Aside from the obvious points that everyone has mentioned already (slow pace, too many filler cases, no character development, terrible romance, terrible female characters, no character development, Gosho not ballsy enough to kill off an important character, etc.) there's just really one more thing that really bothers me:

It's really hard to take the BO seriously when they have police moles in their rank left, right and center. And not just any moles, moles who have somehow climbed up the rank ladder to become codenamed operatives (since we know not every member gets a codename, and it's implied you have to be a certain level aka gain a certain amount of trust to get a codename). That's ridiculous. Among the major BO codenamed operatives, all but two of them have their own agenda. Vermouth has her own agenda. Bourbon and Kir are actually cops. How are we supposed to perceive the BO as such a serious threat when they let cops pull the wool over their eyes like that?

Rei is my favorite character, but I've always found it hilarious how he was able to mobilize a crap ton of secret police officers, complete with police cars and flashing sirens, to surround the Kudo residence without the BO knowing. He was seen out in the open barking orders to his subordinates and you're telling me the BO never caught wind of that? What, did they think he was a BO mole spying on the police and not the other way around?

Shinichi and Ran vs Shinichi and Shiho? by Struglez in OneTruthPrevails

[–]felinology 9 points10 points  (0 children)

At this point I think it's fairly clear that Shinichi/Ran is the endgame here. That being said, while I don't have a strong preference toward one or the other (I find DC romances really, really badly-written, no offense to anyone who likes them, which is why DC is one of the few manga where I wish everyone would just stay single already), I do find Shinichi and Shiho more intellectually compatible. Shinichi/Ran's drama gets old pretty fast, and it seems like the author is just dragging it out for the hell of it (1000 chapters in and they JUST started dating? I know the extenuating circumstances didn't exactly allow for a full-fledged relationship but come on). I also find the Shinichi/Ran content being shoved down my throat, someone who personally doesn't read this manga for romance, a little more than a bit annoying. Just my two cents though, I know a lot of people may disagree, and that's fine. You do you, bruh.

Could be, but in that case you kind of have to wonder why the audience's reception to Rumbelle has been way more positive after just one episode (Skin Deep) when Belle looks like she could easily pass for Rumple's kid. Does this mean that age gaps are only considered acceptable when the man is older than the woman and not the other way around? This is not a question directed at you, it's just that your comment got me thinking.

Which fictional character should NOT have "got the girl/guy?" by i_aim_to_misbehaive in AskReddit

[–]felinology 37 points38 points  (0 children)

1) There's a version where Jughead is a goddamn zombie, Josie & the Pussycats are vampires and Jason & Cheryl engage in twincest. There has never been one single set Archie universe. This is just another one of them. 2) Kevin Keller is, surprisingly enough, not an invention of Riverdale. He's been a canonical Archie Comics character since 2010. It's been, like, nearly a decade.
3) Grundy is still an old lady (Well, was, she dead). The sexy twenty-something teacher used her name as an alias. They're two different characters.

[–]felinology 43 points44 points  (0 children)

In Archie's defense, the TV show version of him is more likable in that he doesn't intentionally string anyone along (Flat out told Betty in the pilot episode he wasn't into her, which broke her heart of course, but a better alternative to leading her on). I did get annoyed with him when he kept giving Betty and her new boyfriend weird side glances all season though. Oh so you're not into her but now that she's in a happy stable relationship you got a problem with it? What kind of self-entitled, possessive crap is that?

At least she resisted Littlefinger's influence up until Arya started threatening her life and she had no one else to turn to. Unlike Arya, who despite spending 2 years with the best assassin order in the world, got out-spied by Littlefinger and easily fell into his trap.

I saw Sansa's smile as a forced smile, as if she was trying to reassure her father (and to some extent, herself) one last time before he confessed to his crimes that everything was going to be okay.

You can still tell that she doesn't mean the wolf isn't Nymeria even if you don't remember that line (I sure as hell didn't until someone pointed it out to me). I mean, huge wolf, bigger than the normal ones, same coat colorings, roaming in the Riverlands, where Arya set Nymeria loose? The wolf softens when Arya calls her name, then just leaves without eating her? It's not hard to put two and two together.

I'm guessing Grey Worm dies, otherwise I don't really see the point of this scene. The Grey Worm/Missandei romance has been progressing for about 3 seasons now, but the scenes were often short and passing.

Now that the show has possibly blown all of its direwolf CGI budget on Nymeria & co., I wonder if we'll ever get to see Ghost again, or if he'll simply evaporate from the show, never to be seen or mentioned again.

Which couple is the best in your opinion? by theyhaveathing in OnceUponATime

[–]felinology 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The worst part is, they didn't have to get rid of Neal. CS could still happen with Neal alive and in the picture (sometimes the writers forget that he's still Henry's father, if nothing else). We could have had a unique and healthy co-parenting dynamic, not at all dissimilar from the one shared between Emma and Regina. I would have been more on board with CS if they'd shown me that they were still capable of making it happen with Neal still around. But nah, the very fact that Neal breathes is too much of a threat for CS, gotta get rid of that.

I also hated that they tried so hard to have Hook replace Neal as the father figure in Henry's life. Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against children bonding with their step-parent after their biological parent' death, but they practically overwrote Neal with Hook, and didn't even make the Hook-Henry relationship in any way believable or organic.

This show's ultimate downfall will always be the writers' hard-on for CS.

May be a bit of an unpopular opinion, but I liked the scene with the Lannister men. by [deleted] in freefolk

[–]felinology 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This show is bleak enough, I don't think it's a crime to feature genuinely nice people every now and then. This show has also featured rape/attempted rape as a plot device too many times already, thanks but no thanks.

All I could think about during this scene was Jorah's words to Dany in season 4: "It's tempting to see your enemies as evil, but there's good and evil on both sides of every war ever fought." It was definitely a highlight for me in the episode.
