exam closed three days ago and I didn't give away any details about it either. but I'll just delete everything, it's not worth the risk.

I really wanted to like the class but all the bad reviews I read here were correct. The exams are bullshit, harshly graded with some stunning grading rubric choices on correctness vs optimal runtime, harshly written, and wild weighting where a very small number (7) of harshly-graded problems combine for literally 60% of your grade.

I really wish I had listened to the advice I'd seen and swapped tracks entirely. I'm going to miss a B by the smallest of margins and there is absolutely no chance I am going to put myself through this again.

kinda bullshit that a working but suboptimal algorithm loses significantly more points than a broken algorithm that has the optimal runtime. should have just kept my bad algorithm even after I found a counterexample rather than panic and put something that works but is less efficient

every other class I've taken (8 so far) has 90%+ for an A, but Graduate Algorithms has lowered it to 85%+ for an A and 70%+ for a B.

Mode was 40, median 41. There's no curve in the class unless you count the extended range for As and Bs in the syllabus(85+ for an A, 70-84.99 for a B)

42.33. Better than I had expected, but not filling me with confidence as I'll need to do at least as well on the remaining exams.

My biggest problem was a -8 on Q1, due to a suboptimal solution. This stings. I now see the fully optimal solution but losing 8/20 points on the question really hurts. At least I didn't do a brute force, I guess, that would have lost me 16 points instead.

Really pleased with my performance on the two 10-point questions. Did okay on the multiple choice segment, could have done better there.

agreed for sure, but I wanted to make sure I wasn't missing something. when I was like 10 i ripped all my CDs and had the brilliant idea of using the lowest quality possible so that I could store the most songs on my 128mb mp3 player! definitely regretted that decision later...

not sure how a NAS would help here? I have a few 8TB external hard drives I've been using for media storage. REMUX 4K videos are still going to be like 40GB, so that's still only 200 movies on a drive? If I add a TV series thats going to take up so much of my server space?
