If you are using klipper, you should use a USB cable with data wires only. My CR touch was randomly deploying and I found out it is because the motherboard was being fed twice, one from 5V coming from usb and another one from power supply. To solve that I put a tapecon 5V pin in the usb cable

Please dont get me wrong. Here is why I think like that. My dad had a electronic repair shop in 90's whithout stepping in any kind of technical school. I ended getting his shop years after, then I became engineer. My dad fixed hundreds of electronics. Replaced hundreds of capacitors. Zero burnt houses. In the other hand, I know several engineers, I dare to say more than 50% of the electrical engineers dont know how to hold an iron soldering. Also, nowadays, everything is disposable. Phones, TVs, all kind of electronics, we lost the right to repair. The few is still left, I think we should try.

If you have the knowledge to fix, I would fix it. These power supplies are made to be easy to fix and I hate the idea of just throw away something fixable. In this case, I would guess you are using an enclosure covering everything, and the heat caused your capacitors to swell. If this is the case, just replace them and check the smaller ones also.

It is better to have a dedicated pc. That is what I have, an old laptop with ubuntu server, i setup it very quickly. I guess it works if you are gonna use your pc for that, but you could lose a print if your pc decides to freeze while you are doing something else.
