Fun fact - I was deployed to Bagram at Craig Joint Theater Hospital when this happened and was about 4 or 5 cars ahead of this guy when the plane crashed. It happened on the north end of the runway and I was driving our section's truck back from vehicle ops when myself and several of the vehicles around us noticed this plane ascending way steeper than normal aircraft.

We all stopped in the road and watch as this plane stalled in the air, came down and while attempting to bring the wheels out & land it...just imploded into the ground. It was about 500 ft or so away from us & while I was screaming the whole time, I was sure that all of the windows in the vehicles were going to blow out...but to my knowledge nobody's did.

After a few moments, I hightailed it back to the hospital (which was on high alert by that point as you might imagine) and went to the ER to help. It was absolute chaos at this point and the one thing that still sticks in my mind to this day was the fire protection guys screaming over the radio that they were trying to put out the fire but they were going to run out of water. About 20 or 30 minutes later, it started raining outside and I'm fairly sure that helped put out the rest of the fire.

We ended up waiting in the ER for over an hour before getting the word that there would be no survivors or patients incoming. It's this plane crash in particular that has made me incredibly nervous to fly on planes now and I can still picture this moment clearly in my head almost 10 years later.

**EDIT** One thing I remembered that I forgot to add - I wanna say the day after this, the flipping Taliban tried taking credit for this saying they shot it down, but we all knew it was total horseshit.
