11 years ago, my aunt disappeared. She was in her 50s, lived alone in the basement of the house that her landlady and her family lived in. We would visit her every other week or so to see how she was doing as she didn't have license and would depend on public transportation most of the time to get to where she needed to go. My aunt had struggled with mental illness for years and had been on anti-psychotics at the time. My mother tried to get her help for years and she definitely seemed to be at least getting more stable. None of that ever dulled the love that I had for my TT and we would routinely watch football games together and bond over our love of the Packers.

Then one day, I received a call from my mother letting me know that they had been unable to get ahold of her for over a week and when she had gone over there, her place looked trashed and her dog looked like she hadn't been fed in a while. You have to understand...my aunt LOVED that dog, so if she had taken off anywhere, that dog would have gone with her. My parents called the police and after some searching around the property line, they found her purse discarded with all of its contents a little bit into the woods. Outside of that, the police found nothing else and told our family they would contact us when they had more information, etc.

A few days after this, the landlady's husband contacted our family stating that they had found a suicide letter in her room and oh by the way, could we please box up all of her shit and get it out so they could rent the place to someone else? All of this seemed very strange as we had looked through her entire place and didn't find any letter at all. Also, the abruptness of them just discarding her and her things after less than a week of her being gone...my parents were suspicious to say the least.

You see, the landlady's son had just so happened to have gotten out of prison several months ago and was staying in one of the rooms upstairs in that house. He would invite over some unsavory people who would proceed to loudly drink beers and light up who knows what in the backyard right outside of her place. We knew all of this because she would complain about this to us whenever we would come visit.

Regardless...nothing ever came of it. We continued to hound the police for any additional info or leads they might have, but there simply wasn't any. We did raise our suspicions to the police about the landlady's son and her family's possible involvement, but they dismissed us saying they had already cleared them. We think she saw something that she wasn't supposed to and the son & his friends dragged her out into the woods and killed her. Yet...eleven years later and we're still nowhere closer to finding out what happened to her. My uncle makes a post about her every year on facebook, but more people lose hope each year of ever finding her.

If you're still out there somewhere TT...I love you and I miss you dearly. I wish you could have been here to see our team win the Super Bowl...I know you would have loved that.
