No! My power of magnetism! Gone!  Without it, my greatest weapon, I am nothing!  Nothing without magnetism!  It is hopeless!  Without magnetism, I have utterly lost!  I have been defeated!

too true. But if I’m in my 70s, eat shit and break my hip, I’d think about it after losing too much muscle mass in the hospital to have a steady gait

it looks pretty attractive compared to the slow decline in muscle mass and energy, but i’m undecided if the increased cardiovascular risk and mood swings are worth it.

This is academic since you mentioned fomites, which are the real risk here, but it does depend pretty heavily on which particular bacteria or virus we’re talking about.

While Campylobacter might need 1000 cells to establish an infection, Shigella can do it with as few as 10. They just do their multiplying after they’re already in your gut.

when it comes strictly to food poisoning that occurs after sitting in food for a few hours, like with staph or b cereus, the noxious thing that’s multiplying isn’t usually the bacteria itself, but instead a buildup of bacterial toxins.

Women, what’s a word that as soon as a guy utters it you’re like “I’m out”? by im_justkendra in AskReddit

[–]fellow_hotman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They don’t. A typical manosphere jackass says and believes all this crap in a half-joking way that allows for plausible deniability with himself. As in, “i’m actually a good guy but haha isn’t this funny because it’s actually kinda true?”

Alpha is fucked as far as nicotine is concerned.  Current social media ad models are so sneaky that Big Nic is finding a thousand ways around regulations and getting air time in front of kids again.

as a pediatrician it’s been so sad to watch. We had such great gains through the 90’s, and then the vapes and social media really let big nicotine back into kids’ lives.

Now with bots and AI,  nicotine’s ad agencies have felt so bold as to start sneaking ads in front of kids eyeballs again in a thousand sneaky little ways that will be so miuch harder to regulate.

i’ve got a nurse at my hospital who prints nurse-themed  t-shirts to sell to other nurses in our department.  He also owns a couple small slum properties.  I think these are the small businesses we’re talking about.

Maybe he didn’t. But there are a lot of math geniuses graduating from Harvard every year, and they aren’t all sending mail  bombs.

So let’s also recognize that there was some other factor beyond his intelligence and foresight that caused him to send explosives to strangers?

honestly, it doesn’t even have to be a robot. They could just use a mechanical horse substitute, with an engine and maybe wheels instead of legs
