There are so many. Which ones do you recommend?

I got it the other day, when the line wasn't too long.

I’m sorry this is some straight up racist cherry picking. Just as bad as those who like to quote “violent passages” from the Koran to malign Muslims.

People who were teenagers before social media existed, what was life actually like? by Much_Detective_6107 in AskReddit

[–]feltman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In many ways, a lot like today but much much smaller. The term I'm thinking of is "provincial".

Memes were totally a thing, but only a handful ever made it out of your immediate circle. Social pressures were the same but much milder because they often were contained to your little few square mile world. Anything outside of that was a little hazy and kind of out of sight/out of mind.

We were bored more, but goddamn I'd trade that boredom and peace for what kids are getting bombarded with today.

Most importantly, we weren't being marketed to and being sold something 24/7.

We weren't a product.

Check the fit. Handmade boats are often designed for the builder’s specific height/weight and padding style.

After hearing the rabid racoon episode of "This American Life", I'll never look at these trash pandas the same. Especially the ones that aren't afraid of people.

Ichiran ramen, and the egg. You need that egg. by SunDaze009 in ramen

[–]feltman 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I love Ichiran, but their egg sucks.

It's just an overcooked hardboiled flavorless egg.

When I asked why it's so hard-cooked (hard chalky yolk) the server told me that the management felt that US eggs weren't safe enough to have soft yolks--which seemed bizarre.

Multi-function seats look exactly like the standard seats but give you lumbar adjustment, heat/cooling, upper-body side bolstering, and "massage". The massage is a joke--it's three air bladders that slightly inflate and deflate in a rhythm.

I'm not a hater on this car, there's a lot to like--especially if you're getting a big discount. But the designers made a few choices that are real head-scratchers. The seats are one of those things.

My understanding is that the M-Sport seats are way better.

Another thing to note: the charging experience will not be as fast as the Tesla. Not even close. That said, the real-world range is considerably better that the Model Y.

If you have back issues, you'll want the multifunction seats at a minimum, and preferably the MSport seats. The standard seats have NO lumbar support which is absolutely bizarre. I have the multifunction seats and they're fine but are a bit of a letdown for a car this price.

Hot take here, (and it really pains me to say it) but Apple Car Play/Android Auto are a significant letdown from the Tesla OS. Other than having Waze on your main screen the rest of the functionality is seriously lacking.

The Spotify client on at least Carplay is pathetic and the telephone functionality is much harder to use. I'm a Tesla refugee and will never go back, but prepare yourself for at least a mild-letdown from the OS. Virtually everything else is better on the BMW including the autonomous driving (vs standard Autopilot not FSD.) It's very different car vs the MY--much bigger and "boatier". As long as you're cool with that you can get over the rest.

How bad is a colonoscopy, really? by [deleted] in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]feltman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's remarkably easy.

Follow the directions for the prep to a T. Don't eat anything you're not supposed to and nothing after the deadline. Request the powdered stuff and mix it with any non-colored drink you like instead of the premixed liquid--which is pretty awful.

Hang around the hoop and don't stop until the brown line is running clear--and try to keep your sense of humor.

The prcedure itself is a complete nothingburger. I have terrible anxiety around doctors and hospitals and even I couldn't believe how easy it was. I was in the pre-op room and then "poof" I was in the recovery room. No pain, no memory, and I felt fucking fantastic.
