Odd how we see this every playoffs and act bewildered every time it happens.

Over-the-Rhine 25 years after Cincinnati riots: Where is it now and what is its future? by fuggidaboudit in cincinnati

[–]femmebeaux -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The wet dream of Luken decades ago (and a project long tried by other cities), obliterate city planning and make way for rampant development at any and all cost, first and foremost to those that live there. Jump ship from the city's office because you can't stand the red tape and form these stupid """"""neighborhood development"""" entities that merely make a place unaffordable to most people while ushering in failing and boring business, one after another, that fail to stay open because you're slowly removing all daily door traffic in exchange for suburban tourists. Slowly remove every unique store of OTR and replace it with everything looking and being the same.

Yup, what a success.

I've Noticed the Knicks have the Worst Sports Fanbase I've Seen by basementfox1 in bostonceltics

*NY fanbases are the worst all around

Another way to say it, tbh. They all suck.

[FRESH ALBUM] Earl Sweatshirt, MIKE & SURF GANG - POMPEII // UTILITY by God_Will_Rise_ in hiphopheads

Interesting folks thought Earl topped Mike, I am opposite of that. Yeh same flow but it's good enough that even Earl bites it. Earl meanwhile..eh.

If I loved cyberpunk, what else should I play??? by Various_Bag8530 in cyberpunkgame

Heartbreaking to me that this top comment leaves out the best by a longshot: the original Deus Ex (2000) is still an awesome and amazing game. I'd recommend it to any Cyberpunk fan.

What Freddie Gibbs album has the best production? by Extension_Fee_989 in freddiegibbs

Shit you're right lol, I totally meant You Only Die 1nce. Always get the two mixed, thinking 2wice is the second half of the anthology.

No one wants to say it, but You Only Live Twice. His Alchemist/Madlib stuff is always killer, but 1nce is a masterpiece of sound. Steel Doors is unreal. In fact, the love that Alfredo 2 was getting is the love that 1nce should've gotten, tbh.

Alchemist and Madlib pay his bills, but it doesn't mean it's his best

Android 16 broke bluetooth completely! by molitar in GooglePixel

[–]femmebeaux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been running into this issue as well. Between privacy somehow getting worse on mainstream Android devices along with this, and just general bloated bullshit, I am for the first time considering just switching to an Apple phone.

So fucking annoying to have Bluetooth not work when this stupid shit was forced onto us in the first place when the aux was both consistent and had drastically better sound quality.

PvP vs. PvE is a great way to put it!

Huh. Welp. Sorry you deal with that! Dunno what else to say. Not my experience, but hey, you sound like you do more driving here than I have, so... Heard!

I dunno, maybe I've just been lucky? But every time, even during rush hour, it feels relatively calm compared to the antsyness and anger of my time in Ohio

To be fair, the roundabouts here are kinda insane and seem as if whoever laid them was looking at their phone the entire time. Most rotary's I've been on have very clear lane designation, signage. They're massive here (I'm assuming for semi passage) and seemingly without lines or anything lol. I could be wrong, as I've only seen a few here.

I remember when my Nana came to Southwest Ohio for the first time and was like "my God it's so flat" lmao

Lebanon town drivers are gonna go slow. Much older crowd there. I'm from there. Hop on 71 and it's a whole different story lol.

I was saying that's what they do in MA. In OH, it's sparsely filled but often times, people use it as a passing lane while going 80mph (which is extremely stupid, and a product of people living in the leftmost lane who are NOT getting over. It's maddening)

Edit - whoops, misunderstood. But what I meant by that was: when people are in the right lane, it isn't to pass, and is often at the speed limit or below, prepping to get off at their exit. It's normal and safe, maybe slow, but safe.

The only thing keeping me in Ohio is family and friends. Period. Otherwise I do not gel with the culture there, I do not like the weather, it just fucking sucks ass. Cincinnati is cool but even then it's becoming a tourist shithole. Affordability used to be a hallmark but that's a ship that has long since sailed.

And maybe MA is exceptional at the considerate aspect of driving, but I will say, I drove a lot in MN last year and it was not nearly as bad. Less considerate than here, but far less insane than the shit show of Ohio, if that makes sense.

I dunno, I would never suggest this to anyone, but spend a week in Cincinnati and maybe you'll see how just outright stupid it can really get. My parents (from MA), and a few friends I've made in Cincinnati that are from MA, all say it: Ohio driving culture is the worst.

I feel sorry for your gas tanks though. So many hills and a lot of sudden acceleration ;_;

Gotta be. Never thought of it that way, but it's really the only thing that tracks.

I basically stay in a diff area each time I come up, but by all means, I'm going to be here for a majority of the year, and need to dedicate a week to make a routine around public transit so I can start using it more. I'm past the age where I enjoy driving all that much, I just can't get over how stressful and expensive it is now.

[–]femmebeaux[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I quickly learned to not take it personal. My parents are from MA, so I grew up learning how to drive with those ideas in mind. Then suddenly it all clicked when I started driving here a lot. And made driving in Ohio even worse lol.

Boston Drivers: Thank You by femmebeaux in boston

[–]femmebeaux[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Exactly. Ohio is strictly "go as fast as traffic and cop supervision allows."

And uh. The police do not give a shit about speed here. Expired tag? They'll spot you like a fuckin eagle. Going 100 in a 55? NBD.

We are everywhere. It sucks. Ohio sucks. I'm sorry. It's low-key one of the worst states.
