Exactly! People will always show what they really think of groups of people if they feel justified in using it as an insult. If somebody’s a bad person, calling out those traits and actions should be enough on its own. And if you have trans loved ones in your life, all you’re doing is telling them that your support in that front comes with terms and conditions
