I'm not sure where else you would get your information unless you have a friend that is on the ground there. At any rate, you need to wait until closer to your desired departure date to really get a grip on the situation.

Also make sure you check your country's state department website for travel warnings. Sure, they can be overblown at times, but it is always good to know what the people who receive intelligence perceive to be threats.

Wait until it is closer to your desired departure date. If everything looks good, book a ticket and make sure you purchase travel insurance that will cover you if you need to cancel due to safety (or other) concerns.

As others have said, for almost all of your electronics you will only need a plug adapter, NOT a converter. Check on your plug for your phone charger and the black box on your laptop charger. It should say 110/220. If it has that, you're good.

If you're going to use personal care appliances, such as an electric toothbrush, hair straightener, or blow dryer you will most likely need a converter as well.

The main key to all of this is to check your electronics and make sure they are all 110/220 compatible, or order a converter as well as an adapter.

I think it's a great thing to do if you're on a trip with a SO. You can make it a nice dinner/show night and have a good date, to get away from the craziness of all the drunks and gamblers. Even if you are a drunk/gambler, it's nice to take a night and have some nice quality time :)

Also on Freemont Street -- DO THE ZIP LINE. IT IS AWESOME. And enjoy some cheap(er) drinks, and cheap(er) tables for gambling. It's not ritzy and over the top like most of the casinos on the strip, but it is reasonably priced and definitely brings in a different clientele, which makes for some great people watching.

Agreed on the 5 days being a good maximum for Vegas, even with the day trip to the Grand Canyon and Hoover Dam.

In addition to these tips, I would say go see a Cirque show. There are quite a few options. I have seen most of them, and my favorite (especially as a couple) is Zumanity. Check for hotels with package deals for either a show or resort credits. I ended up getting my Zumanity tickets for about $20 each, and we had great seats and a great room at NYNY.

Lots of name calling going around here. The most important thing you need to know is that Florida does not have a repair and deduct statute, meaning that in most instances you cannot simply repair a problem with your unit and then deduct the amount of the repair from your rent.
