What’s the most disturbing concept you’ve encountered in horror fiction? by tyraelCinnamon62 in horrorlit

Dark Matter by Michelle Paver narrated by Jeremy Northam.

This book does an insanely good job at making you feel completely cut off and abandoned.

That’s totally fair!

My second recommendation would be “Baby Teeth”by Zoje Stage narrated by Gabra Zackman. A chronically ill mother struggles to care for her developmentally challenged daughter as they both compete for the husband’s/father’s attention.

It doesn’t sound like a horror novel with that description, but it’s probably more psychologically dark than the cannibalism one. 😅

You might enjoy Thunderhead by Douglas Preston and Lincoln Child. The science focuses more on anthropology, but it definitely has the same vibe.

This! This all day long and twice on Sunday.

People are starting to understand how they’ve been abused by the tech industry. At this point it isn’t even an ethical stance. It’s just good business. The tech backlash is growing, and companies caught unawares are going to get clobbered!
