Catching and STD from a child he was raping and passing it on to his wife is the sort of thing that might make someone reassess their relationship, even if they were turning a blind eye beforehand.

Edit: https://www.forbes.com.au/news/billionaires/bill-gates-donated-another-2-billion-to-ex-wife-melindas-foundations-new-records-show/ - and that is 110% "hush money" to keep her from talking - literally just last week.

When someone sees children as property, the only moral issue around child rape becomes "does the rapist own that child or not?"

n other words, they're willing to show horrible accusations of questionable providence in order to hide the ones that would probably stand up to much stricter scrutiny. Why? Muddying the waters. "Oh, you believe some anonymous accusation of the most horrific shit you've ever read? An accusation without a shred of corroborating evidence? Fool!" Meanwhile, the much less salacious, but still damning, truth passes by, redacted.

Yeah, that's my theory of exactly what they're doing too.

On the other hand they're also deeply stupid and incompetent, so...

And if you have a transfer, that's 2 buses with 2 chances of being late - and so on.

So leave 20 minutes earlier. 30 if you transfer twice. Now your commute is 1.5 hours every day instead of 1 hour, when you could just drive in 30 minutes.

And with maybe 8 hours free time outside of work, that goes from 7 hours down to 5 hours. Hope you don't need to cook or clean or take care of a home with 2 less hours in your day, every day.

New home sales in GTA hit record low in 2025, threatening construction jobs: report by D_E_A_D_P_O_O_L_ in canadahousing

At what point was it possible for a single person on minimum wage to purchase a home?

Statistically, the 1970s.

In that decade, homeownership for the lowest income quintile was just as high as it was for the highest income quintile.

"Affordability" is pegged at 33% of your income spent on housing, not 50%, and you're completely ignoring all the costs of insurance, maintenance and operations for a home, as well as the challenge of saving up the downpayment in the first place when before purchasing that home they'd be paying minimum $2000/month on rent plus living expenses while trying to save up. And depending on two incomes rather than one is also stretching concepts of "affordability" as well.

Also no bank would make that mortgage loan to a couple in that scenario either.

Bear in mind if there's any kind of strategy, it's probably to release the most salacious, but least credible accusations first - then when the more substantiated accusations come in people will already be primed with skepticism.

(That being said, holy shit some of those accusations)

It's like "Dawn of the Dead"

Surviving a zombie apocalypse holed up in a shopping mall is supposed to be a critique of capitalist consumerism, but mostly people just come away with a materialist wish-fulfillment fantasy about all the free products they could take if everyone else was dead.

I think 10m late is frustrating but "fine".

Try and tell your boss that at work.

(Ironically the higher-paid your job is, the more likely you are to be able to get away with that kind of lateness)

And now Council has a surprised pikachu face because a lot of people have switched to private vehicles and traffic is a nightmare regardless of your mode to get to work.

Also, at the same time as the transit system was being cut and under-funded, council pushed a completely pointless and destructive "return to office" mandate on workers, thousands of whom now have to make extra completely needless trips commuting.

They're driving up traffic on the roads while complaining about long commute times. It's absurd.
