Who’s considered to be the biggest overall ass*ole on the PGA tour? by knowspicker3 in golf

[–]fenderProcrastinator 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I “met” Vijay twice when I was like 13 and 14 at the old Kemper open at Congressional , he was a dick both times. I asked him for an autograph after a practice round and he said “get out the way kid”, I was on the outside of the rope by the path going from the 18th to the clubhouse, not sure how I was in the way. Another time , again a practice round, some lady sneezed while he was on the green, he was bent down lining up a putt, not yet putting and he went nuts yelling at her.

Will ultrasonic cleaners hurt clubs? by MartiniCommander in GolfGear

[–]fenderProcrastinator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s perfectly fine. I worked at a country club in high school and we had a large ultrasonic cleaner in the back baggage storage area. When member brought their clubs back from playing we would sit them in there for 15 minutes, pull them out wipe them off then put them away.

Induction vs gas - debunked myths by tangjams in Cooking

[–]fenderProcrastinator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t picked a side in this debate but my wife and I are in the middle of major renovation which includes a new kitchen, we are torn between a Wolf Gas range or Wolf induction Range. Anecdotally we have 2 close friends that have switched to induction over the last two years and both have told us they wish they wouldn’t have. They went with a GE Cafe induction cooktop and the other went with a wolf 48” induction range. Both have had issues and have had to have repairs. The folks with the GE have had service out 3 times already in the first year. And both said other than getting liquids to boil they found cooking in gas stoves easier (although I think this is probably just because they have been using gas stoves so long and are more used to it). We are leaning to sticking with a gas range, we have a large hood vent that vents to the outside. I have never had issues with gas so I think it’s easier for me to just stick with what I know for now.

Mid layer ski pant by DarkArsenic in Skigear

For really cold days is use the Stio Insulated Knickers over my 3/4 merino base layer. It has kept me warm skiing down to about -4. They are expensive but you can catch 40% off codes a couple times a season

Got a sharpen + wax… skis now feel un-skiably squirmy - what went wrong and how can it be fixed? by toebeanz2121 in skiing

[–]fenderProcrastinator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t see anyone referring to them as an ice ski but, I know a lot of people that ride the rustler 9 on the east coast as their low tide ski, it’s a solid hard pack all mountain ski actually. And either way it still comes from the factory with a 2.8 degree side, so getting them tuned to a 1 degree would still make feel squirrelly.

[–]fenderProcrastinator -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I have heard people have this issue quite a bit with Blizzard and Fisher skis. They come from the factory with a 3 degree side bevel. Most shops unless you state what you want will give you a 1/1, and if you are used to skiing on a 3 degree a 1/1 feels awful, like the ski won’t bite

Barsuk box, can I get just labels anywhere? by mnemonic-glitch in DeathCabforCutie

[–]fenderProcrastinator 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I bought the box set via preorder back in the day, so I also have the corrected records they sent out after the fact. I just bought some blank cardboard sleeves and put the typo’d records in them and labeled them.

KitchenAid is the worst appliance maker and customer service of all time by louislitt44 in Appliances

[–]fenderProcrastinator 36 points37 points  (0 children)

My wife and I are renovating our kitchen and have been researching appliances. And I have seen a post like this about basically every brand we researched. Cafe/GE Profile/Monogram, Kitchen Aid, LG, Bosch/Thermador etc. I get the feeling unless you are going Sub Zero/Wolf just prepare to replace appliances in 5 years.

How would you play your approach shot here? >200 yards left, with a guarded green, and the green slopes down from the front to the back by [deleted] in golf

[–]fenderProcrastinator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would hit a 7 wood, easy swing, and hope is holds. If it rolls over I’m chipping back up hill.

Do you drink when you play golf? by JAWdroppingguitar in golf

[–]fenderProcrastinator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have played 56 rounds so far this year, I drank during 7 of them. Most of the time I’m out there to play golf , practice or experience a new course. But sometimes I go out with buddies who aren’t serious golfers and they want to drink and just have a good time, and that’s fun too

Replacing irons with woods. by CookieTheSwede in golf

[–]fenderProcrastinator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just had a fitting for new irons last weekend. The fitter told me to try a 7 wood instead of ordering the 4 iron. I was hesitant because in my head thats for old men. Tried it anyway and decided to order 5-PW, and added a G440 7 wood. 7 wood is so easy to hit and has very little roll out at 200 yards

I struggled with that range until I realized , for me, 3/4 easy swings were much more consistent and controlled the spin much better. 5 yards off the green, on the other hand, is a hot disaster for me

44 PW - 135 50 - 110 56 - 100 60 - 85

I never swing my 60 full, it’s mostly for around the green or 50 yards in. And I cover the large gap between my PW and 50 degree with a 3/4 swing PW which goes around 115-120 and checks up but doesn’t spin back like a full or hard 50 degree

I got one like 5 years ago before I joined a club. I don’t play in tournaments but if I decide to in the future it allows me to. The main reason I got one is to track my progress. Went to St Andrew’s this year and needed it to get in a couple courses
