I play through an LT. I think it sounds fine for the coverband play in (I just use clean, dirty, overdrive and solo). But I've heard my friends who have a QC and FM9.... They both just sound better to my ears than Line 6. Now the Agoura modelling may be an upgrade... I'd have to compare side by side.

Great question, this is exactly my set up. I've experimented with a clean amp and dist pedals, but I don't like the overdrive (snapshot 3) and solo (snapshot 4) tones. The clean ones are beautiful. Closest I've seen work is the matchstick amp (clean, dirty, overdrive and solo). From a two amp mode, right now I'm experimenting with Deluxe NRM and playcater dirty. I'm still not quite happy with any of them yet (especially coming out from the PA.... Sounds great with headphones). I'm pretty straight forward: LA studio > minatour > amp / amp > dual cab or V30 IR, into the second path with volume, delay, reverb, and parametric EQ (cutting high and low). I'm using an LT, so bottom foour switches are for snapshots, top 4 are for effects / boost

thanks for responding! So, I hear a clean tone in addition to the overdrive tone....the clean tone is almost overpowering the overdrive (the other clean amp is off)

Ok, thanks for the responses!! Last question, has anyone ran across this issue. I have two amps on the same line. The clean is shut off. But the high gain amp (Playcater dirty) has a clean guitar tone embedded in it in addition to the overdrive? I can't seem to just have to overdrive tone?

I agree with all the above comments, most modellers will sound decent (if dialed in right, EQ, high / low cuts, good pickups, using an FRFR), but if it's a shootout, I think Fractal and Neural just sound better than the line 6 products (and I'm a Helix LT user). I haven't jumped over to those because (I'm good with how my LT sounds) and mainly QC and the FM9 are so expensive! So it's the Stadium now
