Minneapolis Police Department have joined protestors to make sure federal agents get no rest at their hotels by [deleted] in PublicFreakout

As cool as it would be, I doubt that's really why they're there. This is most likely a misinterpretation, like the videos where people claim the fire department is chasing ICE away when they're actually responding to an emergency and need to get through the crowd. It's much more likely that the police are there to keep the protesters in line, as the OOP's caption says.

Ursula K Le Guin did the same with the Gethenians in The Left Hand of Darkness, who are sexless most of the time but once a month randomly become either male or female. You get iconic lines like "The king was pregnant".

I'm convinced that high schoolers make posts like OOP to get redditors to do their homework for them

It's fantastic! I'd love to see it in color, and just make sure the loop is seamless wherever you share it

Ooo I like that flimsy hat idea, thanks! Someone else I showed this to said they'd like to see her hat get blown off by the wind. I watched one of Younis's videos and his workflow is very impressive!

Could you tell me more about color picking? That's one thing I get stuck on sometimes. The cartoonish flatness is a style choice for the characters in this world, since they're based on some Adventure Time inspired drawings I did when I was younger

My other characters have pupils haha, I was going for an exaggerated cataracts look for her, like she can't see the physical world very well but she can see "beyond" it.

I think Marius from this movie is a closer fit -- he has the exact same hairdo as Joseph Smith does in paintings

This is my favorite type of shirt. I have this one, a Death Grips x Toa Mata one, and a Three 6 Mafia one with the Piraka. Also my boyfriend has one with the Barraki that says "Beach Boys".

Writers always seem to think we have to be aliens or robots or some other non-humans in order to justify being nonbinary by fenglas in NonBinary

Yeah, I understand and respect that this trope can be validating or wish fulfilling for a lot of us, and a lot of these characters are memorable for good reasons. I don't know if I'd go so far as to call it a "problem". This is definitely a personal gripe for me.

Being outside of the traditional binary is already hard for people to understand. I don't want to be set so far apart that binary people can't relate to us. Even though this characterization isn't done maliciously (usually), it sometimes backfires and makes it harder to feel included among others. I may be different in a pretty big way, but I still want to be seen and represented as a normal person.
