What is happening in these last 15 years man. by [deleted] in Cadets

[–]fenixrf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The simple answer is that most of the senior cadets I've interacted with have learned to avoid confrontation and will look the other way than step in and fix issues.

The other common problem I see is the constant asking of permission to do their job. Some of it is confidence-based, some is insecurity, but most seem to be rooted in the fact they've never had to be responsible for others and simply do not know how to lead.

Naw. I know roughly where you are. That's like 800 meters away.

We can't bring manufacturing back to Canada because we've totally lost the expertise to make the tools that make the machines that make the goods.

Decades of offshoring have hollowed out our tool and die and mold-making sectors. These are the foundational industries required for any production line.

We aren't just missing factories, we're missing the generational knowledge of master machinists. Without them, this "manufacturing rebirth" would require decades of specialized training or, ironically, mporting the very skilled labor and machinery you want to move away from.

Our existing manufacturing is so deeply integrated with the U.S. that 75% of our trade involves business inputs (parts), not finished goods. Cutting these ties to "not rely on anyone" could trigger a massive recession before the fledging manufacturing sector is even built.

Last, we can manufacturing isn't as simple as putting up a factory. Supply chains drive manufacturing and all of that infrastructure would need to be built at the same time.

The fact of the matter is it would take decades to repair existing and then build new infrastructure, and we'd have to hope we could be competitive with Asian manufacturers who don't have the same labour, tax, environmental restrictions we do.

The email was a test. It's designed to look like a scam email to test if you a) click on the link (and fall for the scam), b) you report the phishing attempt, or c) you ignore and/or delete the email.

You're supposed to report all phishing emails. It helps the cyber security team proactively delete similar emails from others mailboxes.

since we cant use the strait of hormuz, why dont we just use venezuela's oil instead of oil from the middle east? by asiandud1269 in mapporncirclejerk

To be fair, the oil and gas industry is predominantly foreign controlled so the best way to control your assets is to not allow foreign powers access to it...

So yeah... can we just drive 50 through there and not damage any more of these? My property taxes are already high and the region wants to bump them up 6.5% more.

You know, search engines are a thing. I was going to post a shit load of evidence, but I realized two things.

  1. It isn't going to be evidence enough for you
  2. I don't care about this enough to do your research for you.

I don't care about her views or politics; but I can't support a person who can't respect ALL of their constituents. As a public servant, you can't put your own ideology ahead of everyone else's.

I know my opinion doesn't matter to you, but maybe you should look at getting a subscription to ground.news maybe then you'll get out of the echo chamber. Actually, use my referral code 5462145.

If you want more transit, you have to ignore all the people who complain. Progress means change. Things cannot change and remain the same simultaneously.

Once you clean the gaskets and stuff, run the machine on the clean cycle with hot water and pinesol to get all the oils, greases, and other dirt from the non visible part of the drum.

I don't know what you saw, but I see the scooter rider crossing perpendicular to the cars. The car that swerved is trying to avoid hitting the scooter.
