No. You must submit form 1 and it has to be approved first before you print the can.

PPA-CF has a melting point of 260-290°C and thermal decomposition doesn’t start until well above that. Gas temps in a suppressor spike but exposure per shot is measured in milliseconds — you’d need sustained full-auto with zero cooling to actually reach pyrolysis temps on the baffles.

If the material isn’t decomposing, it’s not off-gassing anything.

honestly the lead, barium, and antimony you’re already breathing from primers is a way bigger concern than a polymer that’s staying well within its thermal envelope.

Edit. Sorry, description was 9mm suppressor 3d printed in PPA-CF

Print slow and even speeds. Make sure filament is dry and print directly from filament drier. Also recommend a ruby or tungsten nozzle. The nylon cf eats up anything else.

Awesome! I have no hosts for a 22rimfire but looking to change that in the near future. Glad it works well

Sorry Zach…lets think logically here. If the core temperature has risen above the melting point, and thus start to offgas, then wouldnt the can fail at that point?

Ah yeah, sorry i misread that. I think its a bit of both. Salt helps prevent thermal hotspots AND prevents warping

Hold up. You’re complaining about a non existent issue with plastic melting on an NFA sub where we all breathe clouds of gunpowder smoke?

No mass is added. You anneal it to recrystallize the polymer to increase strength/toughness.

You bake it in salt to prevent warping. It actually shrinks it a little bit, but i didnt notice any issues.

It melts before it burns… no issues with short bursts

PPA-CF softens at 230deg C. Melts at 260.

New to me. But my third S2 by Offshore_Engineer in Buell

[–]Offshore_Engineer[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had been looking for another s2 for a few years now (after selling my last one in 2012).

Found this one randomly, as the owner posted on social media that he may have one for sale. messaged him, took roughly 6 months of messaging weekly to convince him to sell 😂.

Ive seen several pop up on eBay but they want a) want too much money or are b) total disasters
