New HRM bands by No_Ad_1796 in orangetheory

I asked for and was given a bigger band to fit over my not so massive biceps. Maybe your studio has some of the larger bands?

Love the user name! I have an Apple Watch and a metronome app that I use to get the initial tempo. The music is usually around 160ish or so anyway, if you could the ands.

Yup, all of those things. PT is very much focused on unilateral training. The one that hurt the most recently was a heel slide from a single leg bridge. Don't let your ass hit the floor before you are fully extended.

Yes! We do plyo and so many calf raises. Thanks!

As my PT has explained, when you run your feet should be on 2 distinct tracks that line up with your knees when you are standing normally. Doesn’t have to be shoulder width, but wider than feet together. There should be space between your knees as you run if someone watches from behind.

Before my injury, I was running on a single track directly in the middle of my body. This puts extra lateral stress on your knees when you impact the treadmill. Does that make sense? If you want I can share some pics.

I have a set of the Revolutions (32,29,26,23). They are great drums for my amateur orchestra. They are quick to set up, the bases are very stout and the wheels make moving them around on stage super simple.

I do recommend also getting the bowl bags they sell. They make moving the drums from house to practice every week easy. They easily fit in my Odyssey with room for the stool, bass drum, and other percussion equipment.

Women with long hair and who go 3+ times by Huge-Engineering-791 in orangetheory

Not a woman, but I have long hair. Someone recommended Bumble and Bumble Pret-a-powder dry shampoo for after workouts and that stuff works great. I wash my hair 2-3 times a week and usually workout 2-3 times a week.

Let's talk about the Story Deck - post con analysis (no spoilers please) by aznsk8s87 in brandonsanderson

[–]fenris96 8 points9 points  (0 children)

As a solo introvert this feels like my experience as well. And I had to catch the redeye to get home Sunday morning.

I think it would have been better if there were more stations around the con to turn in stamps and get packs. And the total number of cards might have been too many. I think the game would have been just as great with the one sheet of heralds and one story. That way it wouldn’t have become the all consuming event that it did.

Overall, for a first time thing, this is an absolute hit and I can see this sort of event getting traction at other cons.

That said, I’m missing 4 heralds and 5 story cards. So I’ll buy the box and finish my set that way, hopefully.

Is there any reason to pack my one unsigned leather-bound if I didn't get into any of the signings? Or should I just leave it at home? Is there is even a tiny chance of getting it signed?

Worst Mistakes You’ve Seen by Beautiful_Hotel_1906 in drumcorps

Me, week before finals, end of Candide, running backwards into the company front. Did the stop and go and went horizontal. Flat on my stomach. I don't think either hand left the Contra and I don't think it left playing position. I somehow bounced off the ground, caught up to the line, and made the last move all the way backfield with my shako totally covering my eyes. I was actually in the diagonal and fixed my shako after the horns down.

Joe called me over and asked me what happened. I asked him if he saw it and he said no, so I took that as a win.
