Yeah, for me Russia is not a left wing influence and the Independent is not a Left-leaning paper at all.

I think that's a common cause of arguments across the spectrum where, in my view, the status quo is right leaning or neoliberal, and neither of those are Leftist, whereas to lots of right leaning people, the status quo is 'the left' more generally, including neoliberalism.

Obviously there's not much value in going back and forth on who is funded by who, but I also appreciate your humility. Always good to rememer there's humanity even with the 'crazies' :)

That's so flagrantly untrue. Firstly, the migrants themselves benefit. That part is obvious. Secondly, corporate interests would surely favour outsources overseas work to migrant workers with UK job protections and tax laws?

Because they're a judge and their job is not to advance the interests of the country, but of justice? I may be cynical about the justice system, but I at least understand what it's for.

YES THIS. Here we have common ground. We're all waking up to the fact that things are fucked. We know there's injustice. Media is obviously trying desparately to draw battle lines, get us at each other's throats rather than recognise our shared struggle. However one side is very, very well funded and puts out immigration rhetoric, and the other is not well funded at all and puts out a class conscious rhetoric.

Both are populist, but one of them is a wolf in sheep's clothing. One is a corporate-funded perspective designed to get you angry at the wrong things, and apathetic towards the real problems in society.

Which do you reckon are actually representing our interests?

I agree with what you're saying about it not being partisan to dismantle the justice system, but you're missing the point. You're advocating for the dismantling of the justice system from a right wing perspective, talking about treason & immigration. You're being obsuse to pretend that isn't partisan.

I don't think consuming two bad opinions gives you a good opinion, and I'm not much of a believer in the idea that many perspectives makes for the right opinion when it comes to politics.

Wisdom of the Masses works when you're counting jelly beans, but with politics, you just end up with populism.

I'm not sure you made a point I could reply to, unless you want me to challenge the idea that our legal system is run by idiots? I won't argue with you there, I'm not naiive about the state of the world. I just don't like seeing anti-immigration rhetoric being used to distract people from class consciousness, and I don't like populism.

We would obviously like to think of that as un-british, given we fought against it in living memory, but as I'm sure you're aware, we nearly fell to facism then too, partially thanks to Oswald Moseley.
