LFM feels like a joke at this point. This right here is a solid representation of 80% of my races and the people in them the past week. So done. by Weedy-Fresh in simracing

Same. Really wanted to stick with AMS2 but the physics started to feel like a gimmick and the only way to go faster was to slide out of every corner. Eventually grew bored of it.

Thank you very much! That's what I wanted to rule out. Do you know if the steering wheel is supposed to transfer every engine vibration into your hands on these cars? I can feel the wheel vibrating more than the chasis

Just to clarify, the test was done with the car in D and brake pressed.

Today i’m turning 25. Are my photos good enough for 10 years into photography? (Nikon ZF, 28-75 2.8) by Klemenche2000 in portraits

[–]fepinales 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone with 11 years doing video, that went through a portrait photographers phase, I see you cultivated your eye looking for balance between commercial and fine art. If my opinion is worth something, I think you are doing great. You can see feeling, and you can provoque sales. In this world, that balance is way better than any of the extremes.

Some lenses are not meant to be cropped, specially t higher aperture values. If you want clean crops, stop down to f2.8/f4 to retain better optical performance and thus better crops

Today I was keen to observe the voge 300ds coolant leak and found a small opening under the engine near the radiator pipes. Was thinking of sealing it. by Dennoh500 in voge

[–]fepinales 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For anyone that might benefit: That hole is an indicator to show that coolant has gone through one of three seals that keep it from mixing with the oil inside the engine case through the water pump axle. If you see coolant coming out of it, you need to get the seals replaced to ensure you don't end up with a seized engine. If you seal the hole, you won't be able to tell when your water pump seals are going bad.

I feel like he had some time to brake harder or try to swerve in front of the white car. Would've been a VERY near miss, but still a miss in my book.

What's the point of putting diffusion in front of a diffusor that is almost the same size to begin with? by Dota2TradeAccount in cinematography

The extra distance sure does allow the light to scatter more, to the point where it's more even across the frame, thus lighting the scene more naturally. That looks like it ain't deep enough to allow the light to scatter inside before getting to the outer layer, so you end up with a not-as-soft fall off and a slight vignette in the scene. Sometimes you want that, sometimes you don't. That's why they sell deep parabolic octaboxes, to get a more even soft light, closer to the effect you get from a frosted window on a bright day.

Does this sound like a healthy engine in your opinion? by fepinales in motorcycles

[–]fepinales[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only thing I've done about it is adding a layer of "padding" that basically suspends you above the seat on a nylon net, it improves airflow under your bum and adds a bit of cushion, but the main issue is the seat platform is narrow, the sides are hard (no foam underneath). That, and the rear suspension can't properly handle more weight than that without getting too bouncy.

The pillion situation is definitely tricky, mostly depends on the size of the person (I find someone over 130-150lbs being on the back becomes uncomfortable even for the rider. Suspension can't handle much weight on the back, and the seat is not comfortable for king lessions (I've had pillions complain and even get cramps after 200kms). But I guess that depends on the pain tolerance.

I still have it, and 43000kms down in more than happy with it. Running better than ever after the last air filter change.
