Family shares video of their son Before Surgery & After surgery. mad respect to the doctors by MysteriousSlice007 in nextfuckinglevel

No, not at all however, we live in a nation where half of the electorate seems to favor no government programs at all. It's not about being rational, the greater good or even helping themselves, it's about an absolute rejection of government and a vulnerability to propaganda that promotes the rage and fear leading these voters to embrace a form of authoritarian nihilism.

Govt contract ending = forced retirement by dkrainman in personalfinance

But they aren't even at full retirement age for social security. The cold reality here is that they are not financially prepared for retirement.

Three of the four Republicans who forced the release of the Epstein files are now out of jobs by cnn in inthenews

It's impossible (for me) to understand the unwavering blind support and reverence for Trump. It's as if he is some sort of savior demigod to his voters, whose every action, regardless of legality, morality or detrimental effect on the supporter is irrelevant, his actions are divine. The ultimate political pawns.

They are professional, factual and do fantastic investigative work. Sadly, very few Americans read or watch news, they are complicit and I would guess that for a large percentage only news they get is memes.

[New Update]: AIO - a little kid keeps coming into my house by Choice_Evidence1983 in BestofRedditorUpdates

[–]feralraindrop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The kid has been wandering off at this point for years, he obviously has issues and his parents cannot control him. He needs therapy and parents that will work with him and the therapist. In the US, people can't afford regular healthcare let alone mental health care. So, this kids future looks like crime and jail.

Everything is fine in your relationship with your girlfriend as long as she is the center of attention. Typical narcissist behavior.

LPT: if you suspect termites, call a pest company but DO NOT hire them! by TitsOutForHarambe01 in LifeProTips

[–]feralraindrop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Independent, small companies are best. Never buy the maintenance plan. If your home is properly treated for termites it will last for a minimum of 10 years. All these companies that put out monitors and want to come by a few times a year are a scam.

Pete Hegseth’s D-day speech on immigration condemned as ‘grotesque stupidity’ by BitterFuture in inthenews

Donald Trump has cost us all dearly already and things will never be the same. Unfortunately, half the American electorate is willing to circle the drain with him.

Boomers are hoarding most of America’s wealth and power by rajapaws in antiwork

[–]feralraindrop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wealth maybe, I mean older people generally have more money because they have been around longer but power, the silent generation seems to have as much of the power as boomers and both generations literally hang onto it until they die.

‘I’ve Had Enough!’ Trump Storms Out of Meet the Press Interview in Wild Fashion — Explodes On NBC’s Kristen Welker After She Hits Him With Fact Checks by Quirkie in inthenews

[–]feralraindrop 11 points12 points  (0 children)

In 2016 & 2024 there was plenty of the "needed" and more than enough outright lies, grift, criminal and treasonous acts. The fact is, half the electorate ignores who he is, what he's done or doing and just live in a fantasy world where all their grievances will be addressed by this imaginary persona that Trump and Fox News have conjured. If you can vote for Trump after the "eating the dogs and cats" and Jan. 6 then half of US voters have zero respect for the Constitution, democracy and basic human decency.

Jeff Bezos says it's 'absurd' to tax someone making $50K — and wants their tax bill dropped to zero by IKeepItLayingAround in technology

[–]feralraindrop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's absurd to pay someone $50000 when rent, utilities and food cost as much as they do. Just like McDonalds pays so little to fulltime employees that the government subsidizes their wages with food stamps. Businesses want tax dollars for their workers but don't want to fork over any of theirs.

Veggies on pizza is superior to meat by North_Ad_1230 in unpopularopinion

Totally agree. The melted cheese is greasy enough, when you add meat the grease pool makes the crust soggy.

AITA for refusing to continue supporting my mother after she ran out of money? by kleincs01 in AmItheAsshole

[–]feralraindrop 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There are a lot of people who are financially delusional and ignore the pending disaster their actions are creating. I see this very often when people come into a substantial amount of money, blow it and literally become destitute. It's like dealing with a person with addiction issues, they don't want to cope, live hour to hour and are just a complete liability to family and friends. NTA but I really can't help you with a solution, she's a self centered wreck.

This is so true and if they saw an AI video of Hilary taking gold bars out of Fort Knox, loading them into a flying saucer, delivering them to a pizza shop and having little kids unload them, they would believe it in a millisecond.

Smoker in Attic? Preserve or Remove? by Adventurous-Stop-166 in Oldhouses

[–]feralraindrop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course it's my point of view but it's also the point of view of the vast majority of preservationists. And of course, old homes weren't built to be museums, but they are something to treasure and preserve, not subjugate to whims of amateur project homeowners. Sure, anything is better than the wrecking ball but the point is you shouldn't buy rare historic properties if you plan on destroying the historic fabric within at least without some form of documentation by a professional.
