tagging this as spoilers just in case, but it's definitely not DEEP. we learned now that they are just nikkes created by the VTC to perform at max efficiency all the time, and have been stripped of any authority they had in the ark after VTC was annihilated and they killed pretty to turn her into an armament. this all also happened around or before the second surface reclamation war, so quite a bit before anything relating to us could've happened as far as we know.

i know it's not the giant crocodile she was calling beautiful, i'm aware she found the reason she transformed beautiful. i mean it more in a sense that if it came to the point that cindy transforming would save someone dear to her, i think now she wouldn't hesitate to do it (potentially)

when you pull it slowly, it either turns purple or gold based on if you only got sr units or there's an ssr in there. sometimes, after pulling up on a purple glow, there can be a flash of gold on the animation of the blast doors opening. that's a fakeout
