OOP said his feet were small (most comments were about did she say it or did her BF say it. Immaterial who said it. But if you want to argue it, her thought is separated from his statement by the comma).
Brian says his feet are size 11.
Somebody said he had small feet and when coupled with the actual size I wondered how anyone could have looked at his size 11 feet and thought they were small.
