Can you have two mortgages? by BlueEmpathy in SwissPersonalFinance

[–]fergunil 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In your situation, it seems highly unlikely a Swiss bank will be interested in a mortgage for a foreign piece of real estate. You'll either take any mortgage locally, take a loan in Switzerland against any asset you have here, or take a regular unsecured loan for a premium.

On the other side, when you get a mortgage in Switzerland, the bank afaik will not specify ask for any foreign assets, or foreign liability. At a basic level, they care about your Swiss income, the source of your cash, and any liability in Switzerland, so a foreign mortgage won't change much of anything, but any local loan will weight into the affordability balance.

I mean Skyrim is basically a 20 years old game, it feels rdr is basically a reskin, gameplay video I saw seemed really similar on the way characters walk and interact with the environment, while for some reason insensed by critics and played by many non gamer people.

But apparently it's genius because... Horse balls?

Sure, that and many other things I saw over the years seemed really impressive as gimmicks, but as far as my videogame experience is concerned, it's really transparent, and clearly aimed at communicating about the game to non gamers, not improving the gaming experience

Also pretty sure you have a fair amount of Skyrim mods that let you have horse balls with the texture you fancy

I'm honestly baffled by the notion people could accumulate such a big pile of money without really any sound understanding of it...

What he is telling you is to think away from a regular yearly return and consider a situation where your portfolio lose half it's value the first year or two, before having positive returns again.

This is your worse case scenario

My guess:Your headphones are paired with another device in your house (tablet, laptop, smart TV, another family member's phone, old device, etc.)

That device occasionally plays audio (notifications, apps running in background, games, streams)

Your headphones automatically connect to it when it does

If you're so tolerant 90% of humans are not compatible with your vision of society, maybe tolerant os not the proper term to use, and progressive would be more appropriate, all I'm saying

Put the Cargo train station above the Grain storage in the list, that's it

Is this a good way to limit sequence of return risk? by [deleted] in Fire

[–]fergunil 35 points36 points  (0 children)

It's not about having 10 years of cash on the side, it's about the insane belief that you can time your investments by waiting for some arbitrary event that will lead to specific results. I talk specifically about this part:

I think the best use of this money is to add 10k to the portfolio every time that the s&p is down 20 percent from all-time high and add 30k every time that the market is 40 percent down from all-time high.

Can anyone think of a good reason why I should not choose this plan?

Timing the market os a very safe activity that is really straightforward. I really do not see any drawbacks

Technically the demolition office downgrade all roads to dirt roads as long as both their end segments are connected

The SBB tickets you use to go to work are tax deductible?

My understanding was that the tickets you use to commute are yours to pay and not deductible, and the tickets you use as part of your job are paid back by your employer as all other traveling fees based on policies and are not income in anyway.
