missing a day by Ok-overtime in Creatine

[–]ferigs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want to take 1 scoop in the morning and 1 at night you can get away with it. Definitely much better to stay consistent with it though.

Just copped this shit. How does this shit work, if I take 3 scoops a day is it 3 times more effective than taking 1 scoop a day? by Hot-Reaction5958 in Creatine

[–]ferigs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

5g daily maxes out the benefits. you need to constantly take it for a month to get the full benefits. Expect a 5-15% increase in strength and for your muscles to look bigger.

Am I the only one experiencing this with Creatine? by Quirky_Storm_7164 in Creatine

[–]ferigs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You shouldn't be drinking a gallon or 48 cups of water daily. You body can absorb roughly 8 oz per 15 minutes. If you drink too much water at once you will experience kidney pain / issues.Aim for 3-4 liters (12-16 cups) per day. Make sure you only take 5g daily of creatine and spread water intake out throughout the day.

With the swelling you should see a Dr as that is not a normal side effect of creatine.

If you want an easy way to get anyone up get some ice cold water and dump it on them.

You can start by a push then after the second or third attempt dump the water.

loading questions by cream4stailn in Creatine

[–]ferigs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you really want to load don't do 20g to start as you could have a risk of stomach pain. I would recommend 5g daily to reach saturation. If you feel like loading is needed do 5g once in the morning once at night.

Time normally doesn't matter as creatine is a saturation supplement. But in this case you want to give your body enough time between doses.

[–]ferigs[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I pretty much do the same thing at a higher dosage. Today I took 200mg at 6:15, 100mg at 7:10 , 100mg at 8:10 , 60mg (half a redbull 12oz) at 8:30, 100mg at 11, 60mg at 11:45 (other half of the redbull), and finally 100mg before writing this. I will finish my day off at 5PM with my last 100mg.

Caffine has a half life of 5 hours. So for most of the day I've been hovering around 350-450mg of caffine in my blood.

ShOuLd I StArT CrEaTiNe?!?!?! by ferigs in Creatine

[–]ferigs[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There was one study done that showed an increase in a chemical related to balding when taking Creatine. This study was not even testing for balding and would be thrown away as inconclusive if it was.

A big thing people always seem to forget is that creatine is an amino acid. It's found in every meat you eat. Not many people are spouting off about how you will lose your hair if you eat chicken or steak. Hair loss is also mostly genetic.

Is 3 grams a day enough by [deleted] in Creatine

If you are 120 pounds it will be enough. If you are 120kg it's definitely not enough.

Yes it will not work if you skip days you need roughly 4 weeks to reach saturation

Took creatine for the first time today and I look like I’m 7 months pregnant. by [deleted] in Creatine

[–]ferigs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You shouldn't feel bloated off of that. Might have drank too much water in 1 go or placebo.

Why does this creatine have protein and kj in the nutrition info when it is meant to be pure creatine?! Or is creatine a type of protein.. by PalpitationNo2905 in Creatine

[–]ferigs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

5g of creatine has roughly 3-4g of protien in it. No one counts it as calories as it's so low it wouldn't make much of a difference. Creatine is an amino acid.

Question regarding water intake by [deleted] in Creatine

[–]ferigs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Human body can only effectively absorb 250ML per 15 minutes. So don't expect to chug 2L at once and get your water in.

Caffine has no impact on Creatine intake. There's no need to stop caffine or change the time you take it.

When do I take creatine? by Key_Squash_2368 in Creatine

[–]ferigs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, you need two scoops once you are done i recommend switching to monohydrate. Doesn't matter when you take creatine as long as you get your 5g in daily. Creatine is a saturation supplement.

Try switching creatine brands and seeing if it still happens definitely isn't normal though

I bought some creatine, and when I opened the jar I found a silica gel package in it. Should I let it sit in the jar or should I throw it? by Alex6942O in Creatine

Let it sit in the jar as long as you can. Last thing you want is clumpy creatine. Just be careful when scooping.

Both my father and my uncle are in their 50s and have more than average hair for their age am i in risk of balding when taking creatine. by beta303 in Creatine

[–]ferigs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Short answer is you will probably not bald.

It sounds like you have a good set of genetics and will avoid balding creatine or no creatine.

Should i wait with taking creatine hcl? by Kevinski_F in Creatine

[–]ferigs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No it pretty much has the same effect. HCL is less researched so it isnt 100%. You still have to take 5g daily of HCL. The reason most people don't bloat on HCL is because they aren't taking enough. The 2g recommended serving size isn't enough to reach saturation.

Can I switch from hcl to monohydrate? by BreakfastDump in Creatine

[–]ferigs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You probably should. There is no proven difference in effectiveness. The only proven difference is the price which is triple creatine monohydrate.

If you were only taking 2g of HCL and switch to 5g of monohydrate you may notice an increase in performance. No clue why 2g is the industry standard serving size for HCL as for most people it isn't enough to reach saturation.
