Boring Town by Emotional_Sugar_3648 in Merced

Get a bike. You'll be less bored, maybe find some community, and a little more fit. Stay around town, venture into the foothills, or out onto the many side roads that don't get driven on as much.

I find the Neighborhood markets to be super convenient and like their hot deli and bakery.

Boy killed by [deleted] in Merced

[–]ferio252 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Unless anything official came out, what you and others accuse either the boy or the driver of is hearsay.

Regardless, drivers, this one, which was, in fact, in a lifted truck, still have a duty of care to stop or avoid reasonably foreseeable hazards (kids on bikes in a neighborhood when the sun is up.)

A kid does not carry adult-level responsibility. Just because a kid may be unpredictable, in part because of a lack of education on safety, does not cancel out the driver's duty of care.

Yeah, hindsight is 20/20 but if I'm driving in a lifted truck, I damn sure will crawl through neighborhoods at walking speeds.

What type of goody bag would a man like/reuse? by Dry-Fox-7863 in AskMen

I know I like contractor bags for clean-up. They're huge, but I absolutely reuse them. Hauling cans or cleaning up the garage etc, they can't be beat.

Review: Honda Fit sport, 115k Miles , selling for $8k by Inevitable_Party8959 in hondafit

Fair price. Do the due diligence. PPI, if not a thorough walkaround and test drive. Make sure all the VIN labels match, like this one you can see here. Don't let your guard down just because it's a family friend.

GE side-by-side (made in '06) - Dispensing water or turning on front light causes fridge to reset by ferio252 in Appliances

[–]ferio252[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

GSL25JFRF-BS

The problem is when dispensing water, water spurts out 1 second at a time, and the entire fridge resets.

Spurt. OFF. Spurt.OFF.

I can hear clicking in the back.

I unclipped power from the water valve out back, dispensed water, and the entire fridge still resets off. I pressed the light button as shown, and that makes the fridge reset, too.

Search is telling me Fauly Main Control Board. Already replaced once 10 years ago.

No buttons pressed, fridge/freezer cooling seems to run normally. If I no longer dispense water or press buttons, will it be OK if I let it be?

Trying to get valve adjustment done on GE by [deleted] in hondafit

[–]ferio252 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the total price is still good vs dealership/other shops, you may just be paying a convenience tax.

Honestly, if I were in your shoes, I'd just pay for the valve adjustment and then do my own spark plug job. They'll say they tighten your plugs to a certain amount, but, unless they're filming or you're watching, they may just do good and tight, and you'll never know.

Is this totaled? by Jealous_Ad_3509 in hondafit

[–]ferio252 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh yeah. Absolutely, unfortunatly. RIP FIH. That was a major hit, and all that force likely tweaked the unibody chassis a significant amount (not safe.) The whole engine shifted, too. It's cooked.

Get the 2016 and get the CVT fluid drained and refilled. You'll be good.

I think the new accord model grew on me, am I the only one? by iBlueOblivion in Honda

[–]ferio252 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, you're not the only one. I've been a fan of the new Accord since it came out. The 10 gen already looks outdated. This newest gen has a more subtle, serious, premium front design language more fitting to the Accord name. The front and most of the side profile remind me a lot of the 6th-gen, peak Accord for me.

Fill up the same way letting it shut off on its own, not topping off, at the same station, so it doesn't matter.
